Are you sure it erased all of your tracks?

If you plug it into your PC and look in the music folder in your Rio is there anything there?

The old songs had a fixed term license - opening the songs in Windows Media Player will invalidate them even if they were acquired legally at one point. You will have to find a mp3 converter or drm stripper, convert the songs, and reload them.

My sa5245 cannot be turn off,it is hang, pls help whether restting

Using a paerclip to trigger the reset hole will not erase any of your songs.

If that fails, however, and you have to upgrade the firmware, you will lose all of your songs

Help!!!!!

Insignia mp3 players are a little buggy in that they occasionally get file system problems that cause strange things like this to happen. First backup your songs from the mp3 player, and select "erase internal memory". That actually reformats the memory. Then put your songs back on the mp3 player. If it still doesn't work, please advise.

Insignia Sport 4GB* Video MP3

If it persists, try backing up all your songs to your computer, and then go into the player's settings and hit Erase internal memory. Then put your songs back on the player. The erase option actually reformats the memory. Very occasionally they can get file system problems that can cause strange things like this to happen.

Please help me!

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Help

The issue you have described with your portable device in most cases can be resolved by formatting your device. Please follow these steps even if you have already attempted them once before.

Please note that this will remove all music from your device.

Formatting the device in Windows Media Player

1. Open Windows Media Player with your MP3 player connected to the computer

2. At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top

3. The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"

4. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media1.gif" click this button to erase all the data1.gif from the player

5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.

6.Get a firmware upgrade done if you have not done so...
