There could be several reason you are having problems.
I should first suspect the electricity that powers it.
I think England and Spain use different electricity, perhaps both the voltage and the Hertz may not be the same.
Then there is the telephone signal that you are trying to receive. Those signals may be different from England to Spain.
I would recommend to try to contact the company in England from which you purchased the Symphony, and see if they can help you. God bless your efforts.

Yes,all EUROUPEANS countries wil work with this tv it run in PAL frequincies.Also ASIAS run in PAL.Not the US,Mexsico and Canada run in NTSC frequincies.

Could you please tell me what kind of serial number is that and let me know also what is the program you trying to install to your computer. Is that Studio program or the instant DVD recorder. Please reply back here and if ever copy and paste your serial number so that I can check what is that serial number is all about.

Well i solved the problem by replacing the onboard dvd drive (regular IDE connection) with my PC's DVD drive (asus, can't remember the model).
Worked like a charm,burns every single dvd i put in it, DL included remote control works flawlessly, perfect.
To make it permanent i cut a hole in the lid to pass the ide/power cable through and used velcro tape to hold the drive in place, it's odd looking but works perfectly.
