My rear projection tv isbroke it will turn on but thre is no picture and the only audio is a thump thump like a heartbeat any help would be appreciated. I really just want to know if it is worth fixing or should i just get a new model

Sounds like the TV needs some type of serivice. But just to cover your bases try unplunging it from the power from the wall and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Then plug it back in to the power and try to turn it on using the power button on TV rather then the remote. See if that works. If it doesnt call JVC.
If you have no audio or video and the TV is making a chirping or clicking sound the most likely cause is the convergence chips have shorted. You can get the parts and instructions on how to do the repair from www.TvRepairKits.com
The problem is one of the video drive IC's on the crt boards is bad. These IC's are located behind the front speaker grille. The board connected to the bottom of the crt's will have these ic's on them. They will be screwed into a metal "heatsink" The part number is TDA6111Q
