Need an replacement antenna for my radio shack pro-508 scanner. Radio shack does not carry them anymore

I think that google could have video's about what to do and how to fix your pro 508 squelch from Radio Shack.

no best to replace the antenna, they are not expensive. radio shack carried replacements once not sure about now, but other companies carry better antennas than the one that came with your scanner. Diamond, Comet, Smiley, and others.

You can to to RadioReference.com and join the RS forum. There you will find references and manuals for just about any scanner from Radio Shack, and places to get parts.

The screw-in antenna for your scanner is Radio Shack Catalog number 10538353. You should be able to purchase one, or order one, from your local Radio Shack. Also check eBay - but make sure that it's the correct antenna for you scanner. Not all screw-in antennas have the same thread size. Check prices closely. Considering the age and limited capability of your scanner, you might be better off purchasing a new or used scanner rather than an antenna for the 508.

Need to do a hard reset, turn power off, then back on. Hold down [CLEAR], press the reset button on the back then release [CLEAR]. I found it in the manual for the Pro-2018.

It will only work with a crome antenna.

Have it recloned and see what happens.

you may need to re program it and get a external antenna.i recommend that you get a scanner pc programming kit.
