No restore patition on the Acer. The download is the same in any computer, desktop or latop. Install XP and download the drivers from Acer, that simple.

please try pressing the ALT+f10 ON STARTUP
this may take you into the factory restore
if it asks for a password and you have not set one then the default is normally 000000 6 zero,s
then follow on screen instructions
if you have the option to save any files or pictures before you do this please do so if you need any saved as you will loose them if you do a complete factory restore
Just find a generic Win 7 install disk (borrow one from a friend) and use it to install - the key for it should be on the sticker. This will fix everything else, including the botched install problems. Later download and install its drivers yourself from here

No , You must have the drivers of Acer or the hard disk driver software to be put into the laptop to work.
If not try to search for one in the web for free downloads.
that laptop only works with a 7900mb hd the only way to fix that is to either buy a upgrade kit for that model if available or get new laptop probably cheaper just to get new one sorry

hmmm check out your power connection. see is the adaptor giving power to your lap when you connect this to laptop. There might be an indicator at the jack point of laptop to your adaptor.
If the adoptor is not working well then try to use another one of same configuration.
turn on pc enter bios setup select default settings save and restart.have os disk in drive wait for screen display any key to start from cd.press any key to load disk.in options select install windows ( not repair) your system will find existing os ,now you can choose repair or install fresh copy.if you choose to install fresh copy delete partition first and create new partition and format.
Hi,
I just got my 5720-4126 so once I had to test the Factory re-install (ALT-F10 at the ACER screen) and knew I could get back to where I started (Vista), tried to install XP from CD. It couldn't even see the disk drive :-(
