Question about Kenmore Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a Kenmore ColdSpot Refridgerator MODEL # 52552100. It was working fine until we moved it to my friends house, now it's not blowing cold air. Any ideas to what this may be? Hopefully it's just a reset or something we hit?? Now we have it hooked into a GFI outlet instead of a dedicated outlet like its previous position, could this be the problem? Although, it's not tripping the GFI, it remains on, just not blowing cold air.

Please try to touch the condenser if heating or listening on the freezer if have hizzing sound if not maybe your unit have no refrigerant u said that u move in to friends house maybe piping damage if this happen try to braze leak and recharge refrigerant.or try to relocate your unit maybe the circulation of air to condenser is not good. observe the operation of compressor if working continues.

Kenmore coldspot refrigerator model 52552100 makes ice but wont dispense it

Below is a fix by another owner of your make and model for the same issue.
Pulled out ice bucket; tried ice dispenser with door latch pressed in and solenoid engaged and motor moved. Tried again and nothing (couple of times). Tried water...all good...good closure of dispensor flap (air pot operated). Opened dispenser (pried off carefully from bottom on this unit not to take off the glued part) and saw the micro-switch broken off of the ice dispenser side. Checked micro-switch (all good). Replaced control bracket...all good to go.

Can you hear a small fan blowing air inside the refrigerator? It sounds like the evaporator fan has gone out and it is not transferring the air from the freezer to the refrigerator in order to cool!

Kenmore Coldspot EM5119829. The Freezer works

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp

or..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
