DSC S600 Won't stay on

When i try to zoom in whilst taking a picture my camera shuts down, then when i try to turn it back on it says "access" and turns off.

Please can you advise if this is fixable or would i be better off buying a new camera?

    I have the same exact problem.
    I'm troubleshooting it right now if I find a fix i'll post it.

I know this will sound really obvious, but i had the same problem a while back and changing the batteries fixed it

Camera won't power up.
Please check battery terminals inside battery compartment got clogged or black. Clean them with alcohol or some thing and should be shining.
I have seen few DSC-S600 with same problem and got repaired.

Sony cybershot dsc-s600
Hi, here is a temporary solution that might work for you as it did for me:

1: turn on the camera in picture/movie review mode
2: turn the screen off (not the camera)
3: change from review picture/movie mode to take picture/movie mode
4: turn the screen back on.

You should now be able to take pictures and record.
