Question about Samsung YP-T8 Digital Media Player

1 Answer

I have this samsung mp3 YP-U3, it was working months before and out of a sudden it just couldn't be recognized and it became 'unknown device'' It became worse till my laptop doesn't appear anything if I plugged it in the USB port. My mp3 would appear '' USB connecting.. then ''USB disconnected'' Then it starts charging. I have looked for solutions. My device manager does not have a ''portable device'' column that I can uninstall on. I don't think my mp3 is recognized by my laptop at all. I'm so lost.. Please help.. Thank you so much

It could be a problem with the cable.
Are you using the same cable you have all along?
One of my players works perfectly well on one cable, bit not on another, although that cable works perfectly on another player.
Also, the cable may be faulty, and not making a data connection, though still charging.
Try a new cable.

Not everything that plugs in correctly both ends will work properly
I gave a friend a car charger and a cable to go with it, and a data cable for connecting to her PC,
She rang as she could not connect, and it turns out she was using the charger cable.
She described the same as what you are experiencing.

There are three grades of USB cables.
USB 2.0, the one you want to use.
USB 1.0 some of which that i have found to transmit data slower. It will still connect..
Charging cables, that have only the teo power lines connected.

And of course the cable may be faulty. It does not get the same gentle treatment as your player.
    All look the same.

Most of the connection problems i have had myself have been cables not plugged in properly or the wrong type.

It is unlikely that the computer has fouled up the drivers to let it see the player, though it can happen. Buy iit appears in this case the drivers are there, but just not seeing a data connection.

That it got worse over a period of time, rather than failed utterly, indicating that the player is working, i would expect it to fail completely and not connect sometimes.

The socket on the player could be damaged, although if it is charging that is probably not the case, so i am hopeful that your problem is only the cable.

Please forgive me, i was looking at information for the wrong model.
of course there is no cable.

    That leaves me with:
The connector on the player is fairly rugged, so it's probably not that.
Try gently lifting the body of the player when plugged in, I have had devices work that way.
It possibly means the USB socket you are connecting to has been damaged.
Try a different USB socket, or sometimes an extension cable can help.

If it plays after charging for the usual time the battery is ok.

Sorry about my misunderstanding, but it still sounds like a n old non favorite, a bad connection.

Portable

Hi Guys,

Downloaded Microsoft Media Player version 11 and installed.
I recall somebody mentioning this somewhere. Now when I go to device manager and select update driver the YP-U3 device driver is found automatically.
Also downloaded other software from Samsung website.
