Negative type,or lost color on glossy prints.

Check your computer settings. It has programming to make Negatives like the old photo film would produce and this may be the Mode that it is set for. You could also be in the Infared Mode which would give you more strange results.

I am not an expert for this area, but I have used some of the photo programs both on my set and at the Drugstores. You could also have set your Camera, if Digital, for the wrong Mode and taken the photos in Infared or Negative Modes. The printer would not be at fault, just accurately printing the way it was recorded.

for old photos, just scan them in individually using a scanner or all-in-one priter with scanner. for the negatives, you need a scanner that can handle them like these

My Epson Perfection V500 Photo won't scan any negatives. It scans them as photo's. I've removed the document mat, unlocked the lock, connected the cover cable and adjusted the software settings. I can't...

I don't know of any regular printer that scans negatives. Check your printer manual to see if it's designed to print negatives. You can get devices that will do that, but I'm not certain any regular printer will. If you don't have a manual you can look up your model online to find out more.

I have scanned several negative images to my computer easily but naively thought they'd be put in a full jpeg image so they would look like a proper photo image not a negative image. What do I need to do...

Once on the computer in negative format, only image manipulation softawares are capable of restoring to display impressions. For example, photo softwares are capable of restorations with anti colation fillin voids to achieve image regularity. However, transforming the negative to regular image makes jpeg formating very convenient thereafter.

Hi, I have Canon Pixma MP270. IS it possible to scan photo negatives and change to colour prints. thanks. Blair

A multi-purpose printer scanner cannot scan negatives or slides.
You need a slide scanner or a flatbed scanner that is capable of scanning negatives and slides. Not all flatbed scanners are capable of scanning slides and negatives.

No real color picture, looks like an undeveloped negative, ghost

The pictures are indeed negative.  When scanning negatives or transparencies make sure you have the scanner set to the appropriate setting, otherwise simply Invert the colors in Photoshop, or similar photo editing software.

Nobody is using your computer, so you don't have to worry about that. To change your computer back to normal hold down the Control, Option/Alt, Command, and "8" keys. This will change your desktop back to its normal state

Sony Mavica MVC-FD75 Digital Camera pictures taken come out as colour negatives

If you can use the LCD to take a photo and then use the LCD to review it later then the fault can't be with the camera. Have you tried checking the photos on another computer? Maybe your software is corrupt and needs uninstalling and then reinstalling again. Actually, from memory this camera has a few effects and one of them could be a negative. Check that you haven't switched the effect on by mistake. You'll find it in the camera's menu. What's causing the distortion I'm not sure.
