Hi, I have the Ecoquest SynairG4 and I had to replace the RCI Cell due to the bulb going out. The unit digital readout now keeps telling me to perform cleaning. I cleaned the filter and checked the connectors on the plate and all is clean. Why do I keep getting the message to perform cleaning? Thank You [email protected]

It doesn't sound fixable in the field. It may be a control panel issue. Contact Vollara (which bought Ecoquest) & get through to tech support. 800-989-2299.

By all means run the unit while you wait for the new RCI cell. The purifier will be less effective in killing germs while the RCI cell is out. It will still work to reduce the allergens in the air. Hope this helps you.

you have to reset after replacing the RCI cell there is a reset button

The metal contactors and the wire spade connectors get pretty corroded and can cause continuity problems . I have had to replace those spade connectors and clean the metal contactors with emry sand cloth. Another trick is to soak the plate in ammonia to reduce the corrosion present on the grids

The bulb is in the RCI module for the version 2.0 & 2.1. It the part that is rectangular with a honeycomb grid on two sides. Your dealer should be able to help you get a replacement. If you need more help just leave a comment. Hope this helps you.

When the green LED starts to blink, means that there is a bulb failure in the RCI module. It typically glows greenish blue when it working. Check the connector to see if it is seated properly, and also check the power connector for problems. I had a problem with the power connect not making a good contact and it caused the power to be intermittent. I was able to clean the connector with a can of electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack to fix this problem. If you can't get the bulb to light, you will need a new RCI module.

As for the purification plate, the one that shaped like a tongue depressor, it does not matter which way it go back in to the unit. You should be able to get parts from your dealer or you can call the company at 800 989 2299. Hope this helps.

possibly the control board, bad cord making and breaking.

This is happening to my unit also... One of the dealers told me it was probably a problem in the circuit board and VERY expensive to replace :(

The U.V light is inside the RCI cell. If you replace the RCI, it has been ok. Please don't mind the screen display.

UV bulbs, or rather the RCI cell needs to be changed every three years in the FreshAir, or when the "Replace RCI cell" appears, whichever comes first. The UV bulb loses its intensity over this period of time.
