Hi amitchell47,
The rubber belts that turns the gears is already worn out.
Usually, there are two rubber belts in a cassette deck. You have to replace both belts.
I hope everything works out. Good luck.
This is an error between the bidectional circuit and the motor or the gear.it will be difficult to fix if you're not qualified for. Take off the battery and Try to remove the cassette cover tray with a small screwdriver by rolling down the motor gear which is close to the reading-head.But be careful for not breaking anything. when you have done place the battery back in.
Your rear freewheel (Gears) are broken and need replacing...this is not too pricey depending on how many gears and weather or not you have a freewheel or cassette system of gears....If your not a do-it yourselfer take it to your local bike shop....cost should be between 20-50 bucks....good luck to you friend....Tim
