Connect your iPod to your computer and wait for a few minutes for it to charge, it should pop up after it has charged to a certain amount then:

Step 1: Download http://apple.com/itunes/download
Step 2: Install iTunes by double clicking the file you just downloaded.
Step 3: Open iTunes.
Step 4: On the left side of the screen, scroll down until you see your iPod and select it.
Step 5: On the right side of the screen you should see information for your iPod, scroll down until you find a "Restore" button and click it. This WILL erase all the items that were on your iPod, there is no way around it, unless you remember the passcode for your iPod.
Step 6: Wait and you will be given a brand new Welcome Screen and follow the on-screen instructions from there.

I bought two ipods for my 10 and 12 year olds now they cant remember there passwords and it says to connect to i tunes and i do that but i see know where for us to change or see what the password was so...

font.f1 { font: 12px Times; } Thanks for contacting Fixya, I am glad to assist.

font.f1 { font: 12px Times; } • If you cannot remember your pass code, you will unfortunately have to restore your iPod Touch, which will wipe everything off the iPod and restore it back to factory settings.

The only positive side to this is that your music, video, contacts and calendar settings will still be in tact but you may lose text messages mail and so on.

One more possibility: if you were able to recently sync your iPod with iTunes before you forgot your passcode, when you perform a restore, iTunes will put all of the data of your last sync in iTunes (before the passcode issue) back onto your iPod.

• This is the process which will allow you to regain access to your children's iPods.

Ipod touch is locked forgot password cant unlock

plug it into your computer and through itunes on your original computer you will be able to reset it. If it is not the original computer that you are using you will be able to reset it but will probably lose the information on it.

Forgot my passcode

Using the Restore function for your iPod touch is part of standard troubleshooting procedure. Restoring your device will erase all data from your iPod touch, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All iPod touch settings are restored to their factory condition.
Whenever you restore your iPod touch, Apple highly recommends that you perform a sync prior to restoring in order to back up any changes since your last sync. If you have movie rentals on the device, see this document before restoring.
Use the following steps to restore your iPod touch:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update. Connect your iPod touch to your computer. Select your iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab. Select the Restore option. When prompted to back up your iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option. If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (As long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your iPod touch).
Once the restore process has completed the iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up

  1. Plug the iPod touch in to your computer.
  2. Hold the sleep/wake button and the menu button down at the same time. Keep them both pressed until you see the 'restore' screen (an iPod cable and an iTunes disc symbol) on the iPod touch. Release the buttons.
  3. iTunes should now display the iPod touch, along with a message that the iPod touch is in recovery mode. Click the RESTORE button in iTunes to restore the iPod touch.

ALL DATA WILL BE ERASED !!!
