The red light will lit up when i'll push the switch down but after 2-5minutes when the rice starts to boil,it will switch to keep warm mode. Then if i will switch it on again for cooking cycle it will not stick to down position anymore.i end up putting something to keep it from going up, then just wait for the rice to be cooked then take out the stick i've inserted on the switch and it will proceed with the keep warm cycle.

I have the versa one touch mini rice cooker and can't find my instructions. Can I get a copy of them?

This might be what you're looking for: http://www.wolfgangpuckdirect.com/v/vspfiles/user%20manuals/WPMRC010%20VersaCooker%20GA_VersaCookermanual_2.pdf
I was having some trouble with the link though, but the product's description on Amazon has the instructions for use on it: "Perfect for active, on-the-go singles, this easy-to-use multi-purpose cooker provides a 1-1/2-cup capacity for individual servings of a variety of different foods. Make anything from oatmeal or scrambled eggs to macaroni and cheese, soup, or up to 3 cups of cooked rice. It'll even bake a cake. Simply add ingredients, secure the lid, and press down on the lever to start cooking--its one-touch operation means no need to monitor or adjust the controls. When the food has fully cooked, the machine automatically switches over to a keep-warm mode, which keeps food hot and delicious--without overcooking. Red and green lights indicate the cooking and keep-warm modes for at-a-glance convenience. Best of all, the cooker's removable inner pot provides measuring marks up the side and comes with a nonstick coating for effortless food release and quick cleanup. Accessories include a detachable cord, a handy measuring cup, a measuring spoon, and an owner's manual with detailed instructions. With its cool-touch housing that comes in various colors, the single-serving cooker measures 7 by 7 by 8 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty."

You're probably using too much water. Rice cooks primarily while sitting in hot water, not while its boiling. That's why the cooker switches to Keep Warm so quickly. The correct way to cook rice is to pre-soak the rice for about 30 minutes, drain to get rid of the excess starch, combine the rice and cold water and bring the water to a boil and turn off the heat and let it stand for 15-30 minutes. That's why*- rice cookers take 45 minutes or more.

There are lines on the inside of the inner pot that show how much rice and water to put in. It is roughly 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water. Put this inside the lower pot, put a cup or two of water in the lower pot and get it boiling, then turn it down with just enough heat to keep the water boiling. Just make sure the water doesn't boil away. The rice will be done in about 45 mins. The nice thing about this cooker is that you can't really overcook the rice. It will keep it warm and ready to serve for some time.

try to push the center button inside the cooker using anything not your hands.. then switch to cook mode, if the switch will not come back to warm mode then the problem is the spring on it.. you need to open the cooker and try to remove the spring then stretch it..

MY RD5081 RICE COOKER ONLY WILL JUST WARM RICE, WON'T COOK.

The preassure switch may be not working right.
It may be corroded, etc.
Unplug the unit and push it back several times, try to see if the spring is working, etc.

I got this rice cooker as a gift, but will not work.

I had the same issue with my tefal cooker.

It may be that the bottomof the pot is a little bend in and it you can push it out a little, it may then push the thermostat down the required distance

Salton RA3 3-Cup Rice Cooker Question

Put equal amounts rice and water (up to 3 cups only) in liner pot, plug in, put lid on, flip little front switch. 10-15 minutes later it will be done and the pot will switch to "warm" mode by itself. Gently fluff with paddle before serving. You can also add salt or other seasonings to the water/rice mixture before starting.
