I have dish network and I am unabe to get the dish network remote to control the tv power and volume. Whenever dish gives me a code it works for a few days then the tv rejects it. I have a 27 in orion STV2763

I can understand the concern and wanting the remote to work the TV Menus. It is possible with our remotes, however it depends on the TV itself. I've seen instances where there are 2 TV's in one house, and 1 will do it, while the other won't.

If you have tried all of the remote codes, and none work, the only other options we have available are to try a powr scan, or teach the remote. This link http://www.mydish.com/support/teach-learning-remote-20-21 can provide the steps on how to teach that model of remote control!

Hi dclapper222, not all codes give our remotes full functionality; though we do have some other codes we can try!

A few of the codes for a Vizio TV that we have are 627, 66, 505, 222, 678, 232, and 458. You can find more codes or instructions at this link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup. I have outlined the steps below to program your remote to your TV.

Addressing Remote to TV:

1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

If neither the DISH Network remote or the TV remote is working for you most likely your remote sensor is going bad. If you'd like to try readdressing the remote follow the steps and procedures below. Codes: 500, 837, 125, 808, 798, 640, 796, 783, 795, 797, 865, 846, 842, 563, 501, 810, 841, 781, 807, 838, 690, 758, 843, 845, 591, 839, 806, 840, 844
To program the remote:
1.) Hold the clear "TV" mode button for four seconds or until all four buttons at the top of the remote are lit.
2.) Press one of the three digit codes listed above followed by pound (#)
3.) Check for functionality by trying the volume power and mute.
Be sure to press the "SAT" button to return to satellite mode if the code works.

Hello, it sounds like all that you need to do is program your remote to the tv. Because I do not know the brand of your tv, I'll give you the power scan instructions. The power scan scans the tv for the correct remote code.

To get your tv to work those particular functions, you will need to reprogram the remote to the tv, finding a code that works all functions of the tv. Some codes will work the power and volume, but not the other functions. Try these steps:

To give you the correct remote code we would need to know the manufacture of your TV and the model of remote you have. You can also try a Power Scan and cycle through different codes that are available. Here are the steps for a Power Scan: Withthe desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all modebutton backlights illuminate, then release. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressingand releasing the Power button. Press 0 for a TV, Press 1 for a VCR/DVD andPress 2 for any other device. Then Press STAR (*). Press the Up button once asecond while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for theequipment comes up, the equipment will power off. Press the POUND (#) button. Ifthe code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.
