If the clothes are damp then I would disconnect the vent tube, and dry a load of clothes. If they are dry then the vent needs to cleaned. Hope this helps Tim

Have a whirlpool cabrio gas dryer. It takes several hours to dry one load of clothes. The clothes seem to stay damp towels may take all day... what could be the problem

Have you opened the door while its running to see if its warm inside (heater working) If its getting warm and still not drying the clothes properly you likley have a air circulation concern. With the unit running check the exhaust vent outside from dryer it should have a good flow of warm air, if not you have a restriction sowher between the unit and outside. Heat alone will take forever to dry clothing, you need good air circulation to remove the moisture from the clothes otherwise all you will end up with is warm moist clothing. This generaly happens over a long period of time and then all of a sudden you realize the dryer is not working like it use to..Hope this helps you with your concern.....

Kenmore gas dryer will heat but not enough to dry anything?

First and foremost check your vent! Make sure it is nice and clean and clear especially if the clothes are coming out warm and damp at the end of the cycle.
If the clothes are cold at the end of the cycle or you find the dryer stops heating about 15 or 20 min after you start it then you will want to replace your gas valve coils.
If you need more help in replacing the coils feel free to ask!

My dryer will only slightly dry my clothers

make sure you have the required 240 volts to the unit, then check the high-limit and cycling thermostat(s) on the element case and make sure you have good air flow through out the unit,if its plugged with lint air won't flow and it won't dry right

Model DLE7177RM, takes about 3 hours to dry a load of clothes. Dryer is NOT overloaded.

Does the dryer heat up or is it just cool air drying the clothes ? If it does actually dry the clothes eventually then it sounds like it is heating up. First thing to check would be exhaust hose. Is warm air blowing out of it ? If warm you got heat. If cool then your heating element isn't working. It should be fairly strong current of very warm air. If weak but warm, then somewhere between lint filter and end of hose you have a blockage caused by lint buildup or hose is bent and blocking air flow. Check hose first. You can disassemble lint trap and go beyond the lint screen into metal duct within dryer and clean with a long brush and vacuum. You can also disconnect exhaust duct flexible hose at back of dryer and work through metal duct from that end too. If you notice increased air flow then it should solve problem,

No heat

depending on the dryer there's either no flame or a blown heat element.

An appliance service person can fix this very easily.

Clothes not getting dried

Are you sure that the duct is clean and free flowing? If the duct is partially blocked the dryer's efficiency drops dramatically. I would double check the duct at both ends and clean out as required - air flow is very important - with the dryer on - go check the air coming out of he duct outside - if it is very forceful - then the problem is elsewhere - however if only a little bit of sir is coming out - your all plugged up!.
