The OSD on my Harman/Kardon 347 does not show up anymore. I am using a Compostie cable and it just stopped working a while ago. I had hooked up an X-Box 360 to my T.V using the 3 RED, GREEN, BLUE component cables a while ago and then hooked the Red and White audio cables to the Video 4 input on the front pannel of the receiver. I did not have and sort of video cables going into the receiver at any time. I dont have the X-Box hooked to the T.V anymore or the Red/White audio cables hooked to the Video 4 input on receiver and I still cant get the OSD to work. I set the TV to the proper input and push the OSD button on the remote and it says OSD ON at the front pannel of receiver, but no OSD comes up. What do I do?

    I have the same issue with the OSD not displaying on my TV, with the exception that I'm using the HDMI ouput to connect the AVR-347 to my TV over HDMI.

    the osd on my Harmon Kardon 310 no longer shows up. Seems the monitor out is not feeding a signal. Any suggestions?

Put the receiver in stand by mode (amber light) and hold on the tone button for 8 seconds. This will reset the receiver. After it says reset, let go of the tone button and wait about 30 seconds. Then hit OSD and you should be good to go.

    On my AVR 245, previous configuration was with component out to plasma. Currently routing thru HDMI only. This approach did not work, but it did manage to wipe out all my settings. Now my speaker setting, custom labels and inputs are all gone. Would have been comfortable with the "Reset" approach if I got back the OSD. Now worse than before. Thanks!

Not usually! Switch HDMI around to see if the problem shows up when reversed. Switch Cables from one device to the other and see if it effects any of the two devices. Try to disconnect HDMI from HK device and go directly from TELUS to TV or what ever device is the final apparatus. I trust the last device is a TV or Computer screen?

Harman Kardon AVR 154 OSD setup screen wont display
It will only display via component. Your HDMI firmware is either 1.1 or 1.2 and has HDCP issues (High Definition Copyright Protection) it's a firmware problem that has been fixed on all new receivers, not just a HK issue, all receivers! the new version 1.3a and 1.3b have fixed the issue. Unfortunately you cannot update the firmware on the receiver. Hope this explains it for you, sorry! Lot's of angry people out there!!! myself included.

OSD not working (black screen)
Your 635 will not display the OSD screen through component. You must use either s-video or rca. It won't upconvert the screen menu this route.
I had one up until a week ago. There are two outputs on the back specifically for the OSD screen. I used a separate old 13" TV with s-video to do my setups. Hope this helps.

Hi Javis. This is perfectly normal ! This mode change is done because the receiver auto detects the digital audio signal and sets the receiver's DSP to decode the signal correctly. You can go into the OSD menu to bypass the auto detection of it, but it's not recommended at all ! You're getting the best audio quality by doing so. Thanks ! cheebster.
