The green light and protection light on my 1100d constantly blink and the interior lights in my car blink in sequence with the lights on the amp and I get no sound out of the amp and sub setup. What could be the problem?

ost models have a self-diagnosis feature to help determine shutdown problems.

To enable this feature do the following....

1) Turn the tv on and then let it shutdown
2) Press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds
3) After 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence.

This will commonly be one set of blinks followed by a short pause then another set of blinks.
This will repeat around five times.

1 - 2 = no error detected

2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)

2 - 2 = Short protect (short detected - commonly caused by convergence failure - to repair this check out site for a convergence kit)

2 - 3 = Deflection protect

2 - 4 = Vertical protect


Note: A constant blink on certain models will typically be caused by a fault in the DM model. To repair this check out site a "blinking green light kit"

The red light is key to your issue---is it blinking in a sequence--constant blink or for example 3 blinks, pause and 3 blinks?

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem


******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.


SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

The instructions tell you everything you will need for the repair and how to do it.

You can buy all the parts needed for less than 30 dollars on Ebay (I know the best seller there) I have repaired hundreds of these sets with this problem

the green light says protect above it? and it has a red light for power. then it's in protection mode because the amp see's a fault internally. needs to be brought to a shop for repair.

make sure your wires arent freyed and touching itll protect if any wires touch so ur system doesnt short check all cables from deck and most of all make sure your ground connection is solid if it rattkes aroud itll fry your amp i had the same prob need n e thing else just holler

check that your ground wire is connected properly to both your amp and body of vehcile you may need a thicker earth wire

most reputable car audio shops can give you (or have thier own) repair techs. is the new amplifier rated down to the same impedence you have your subs wired to?
Any protection lights coming on the face of the amplifier?
It has a lights that come on for Thermal, DC offset, over/under voltage, reverse polarity and short circuit protection.
May be a faulty turn on module.
Get it repaired before more happens internally for a costlier repair.
