When I turn on the camera it says "The zoom did not operate normally, insert the battery again and turn the camera on..."
i reset my cammera but problem still please guide me

Hi had this problem with my WB100. Zoom would come out then pop back in and say zoom nit not operate normally, please put new batteries in and try again or contact bla bla. What i did when the zoom popped out is i held onto it and didnt let it retract back and turned it back on. It worked after that so i guess the zoom must of been a little forced in when it was in use last in when turned on it wasnt fully going forward. Worked for me so worth a shot

If Try one or more of the following

Ready light does not turn on and the camera does not work.

• Turn on the camera (Turning on the camera).

• Install new batteries (Loading the battery) or charge rechargeable batteries.

• Turn camera off, then back on.

Ready light blinks green.

• Camera is operating normally.

Ready light blinks amber.

• Wait. Resume picture taking when the light stops blinking and turns green.

Ready light blinks red and camera turns off.

• Install new batteries (Loading the battery) or charge rechargeable batteries.

Ready light glows steady red.

• Transfer pictures to the computer (Transferring pictures with the USB cable), delete pictures from the camera (Deleting pictures/videos), switch image storage locations (), or insert a card with available memory (Using an optional SD/SDHC or MMC card).

• Wait. Resume picture taking when the light turns green.

• Change the image storage location to internal memory (), or use a different card.

Ready light is off or glows steady green.

• Camera is operating normally

To save battery power, the camera automatically goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns off if there is no operation when the camera is turned on (when the lens cover opens and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode.
Operate the zoom lever or other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture. If the camera is left for 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens cover closes and the monitor turns off). Press POWER to turn the camera on.

Either you are not using the right batteries,(some cameras require lithium to operate) or your camera main system board bit the dust. You could check the USB port on the camera for corrosion, but I would guess the board went out.

(Power Save Function).To restore the power, press any button or key, or turn the exposure mode dial to another position.The length of this period is selectable from 1 min., 3 min., 5 min., or 10 min. in the section 1 of the setup menu.The LCD monitor always turns off if any operation is not made in a minute, and this period cannot be changed.If no operation is done within 30 minutes, the camera shuts itself off. Pressing the power button resumes the camera operation from this condition.
