Question about Hampton Bay Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I've had my Carriage House II ceiling fan for three weeks. Yesterday when we turned the light on it stayed on for a second or two and shuts off. It now does that every time we turn the light on. Even though the light goes out the fan still works???

Check the bulb(s) to make sure they are screwed in securely. If it happens only when the fan is on, there may be a loose wire up in the housing, where the light fixture attaches to the fan. Perhaps, a wire nut is loose. If the light and the fan switches are wall mounted separately, the wall switch for the light may be bad.

WHAT TYPE OF REMOTE DO I USE FOR A HAMPTON BAY CARRIAGE HOUSE II 52 INCH CEILING FAN WITH LIGHT

If it was an add-on remote, then you probably can use any remote. If it came with a remote ,then you must find out what kind of receiver is in the fan.

No wiring diagram with fan ( hampton bay three speed fan with light)

white to white, black to black, blue to red, & green to ground.
If you don't have a second hot house wire(red), then put black & blue from fan to house black.

My fan has three wires, black white and blue. It had no manual and I wonder how to wire it to the on/off switch.

Put the black and blue wire together with the black wire on ceiling. Put the White with the White wire on ceiling. Bare/green wires are ground put them together.

What fan wires do.
The black wire is to power the fan motor.
The blue wire is to power the light on fan.
The white wire is neutral.

If you wire this way you turn on the switch and use the pull chains to control the fan and light.

You can also buy a remote control unit at a home depot. And it will have instructions on how to hook to fan and ceiling.

I have a hampton bay ceiling fan & light, carriage house 52", white. the light fixture is loose, it feels like it is ready to fall. is there any way of thghting so it will not fall

Depending on where it's loose it would be tightened with the nut on the shaft/pipe going into the bottom of the fan or, tightening the screws which fasten the housing to the light fixture is -- these will be in the side of the lower cup which connects to the fan housing.

We have a hampton bay ceiling fan model 54cvt. We cant figure out how to change the light bulb or change the direction of the blades. We dont have a manual for the fan.

This fan is also known as the Hampton Bay Covington 54 Ceiling Fan. You need to turn the globe anti clockwise until it comes out. The full instruction manual can be found here.

Hampton Bay Carriage House II

I went ahead and hooked up the wires, and then zip stripped the wireless receiver to the side of the motor mount. Works fine and fits inside the canopy (motor cover).
