SOURCE: Optura Pi is eating tapes

hi from what i understand by "eat" is that the coil is popped out what it means is that the coil leader is misplaced and letting it to run free out of place this can be fixed by you if you will find what had gone wrong in that path (broken pin, cog etc...) and glue it back or fix the missing element in place good luck

SOURCE: Reads "eject tape" or "remove tape"

Theres been a failure in the drive system for the tape. Probably mechanical, so you woul need to take it in to get fixed.

A few times I've been able to resolve this by blowing compressed air in the frame and cleaning the head (if u can get to it)

DV tape won't eject from Canon Optura 20. Power on, screen flashes "eject". Battery is fine. Tape comes up but won't release.

I had the same problem. I cycled through the eject process until it finally gave me back my tape. I had to send it back to have the tape carriage replaced
