I have a jacuzzi tub with the whirlpool WOW motor. When I press the button, I hear a humming noise but the jets aren't working. Any ideas?

I just finished replacing my WOW pump which did the same thing, only hummed. When I took apart the old assembly, I noticed that the capacitor was swollen and cracked which may have been the only part to replace, but also the turbo fins were difficult to turn as well on the old unit. I found a replacement at the best deal from PoolandSpaStuff.com. About half the price of WOW and exact specs. Hope this helps.

Is there a point where you can lubricate the motor on a regular basis so that it will not stick? Hate to think that I have to use a screw driver to turn the motor everytime I want it to work.

Open the access panel and see if the motor is working or just trying to work. Sounds like it may need lubrication.

Jets won't stay running

Sound like a bad switch. The contacts are likely corroded or broken.

Jets won't stay running

When you push the air button down it sends a column of air to the air switch located in the motor. When there is not enough air sent by the air button on the top of the tub it will not make the air switch "latch" in the closed position and means you need a new air button.
In your case the air button is sending enough "air" however when the air switch is not "latching" in the closed position that means the air switch is bad and needs to be replaced.
Most air switch's can be replaced with a TBS-310

Regarding a 30x60 indoor jetted tub (Jacuzzi). When I push the on/off button, the pump slows down but then a few minutes later starts again on its own when there is no water. Any idea what is going

IF that is the one I recall, the switch is not connected to the tub. When you press the button, it sends air pressure to the switch under the tub to activate it;. You need to check the tubing and the switch

My Jacuzzi Tub won't start

Try compressed air through the system, careful not to use too much pressure. Also you may use another water pump to push water through system and free up the motor. The easiest thing may be to get a new motor though.

When I push the button on my american standard jacuzzi tub I hear the hum of the motor but jets don't come on

In my case I took the motor out and used a screw driver to turn the impeller in the front of the pump and the fins inthe back. Put it back together and it worked. I then used 2 tablesoons of dishwashing detergent and 1/2 cup bleach and ran it for 20 minutes to clean and degrease the impellers

RapidHeat In-Line Heater U395000 [ Bathtubs and Whirlpools,: My jacuzzi tub jets run for ONLY about 5 minutes b...

you have a bad motor - when a motor overheats there is a sensor inside the motor that will shut if down so as to not damage the windings and such. once your tub has cooled down for 10 mins or so it will turn back on. the fact that you can push the button multiple times just means that you are turning the air switch on the back of the motor on/off until you get to the point where the motor has cooled down and will turn back on. if you do not push the air button after the tub shuts down and you finish your bath then when the pump cools down it will come back on because the air switch in the motor is latching i.e. it is either on or off. Since you left it in the on position the motor will come back on once the motor has cooled down.

Jetted bath tub has stopped working. Motor hums

look on the back of the motor there should be a shaft that you can try to turn to spin free because something inside the pump is blocking it. rate me if this is helpful.
