I will give you a few steps to take to make software more compatable with windows vista.

1. Make sure you have the most recent updates from windows update.
2. Make sure you have all the correct drivers. Check Device Manager to see if there are any errors.
3. Try right clicking on the software icon and choosing "run as administrator"
4. Right click on the software icon and choose proporties, then choose the compatability mode for the software if it does not say it it compatable on the back of the box and or software download.

I'm using vista home premium os, however the problem I enccounter is once you install software which is compatible for windows NT, xp home and windows 2000, the software the one I installed is not properly...

Yes, if you use a Virtual Machine, you can install the version of windows you wish to work with, install the software, and it should work just fine.
You will however need a genuine copy of windows to install in the virtual machine.
You may be able to find an image of the OS you need, or a snapshot of an OS, to load into the VM, it all depends on the type of VM you are going to use

Can not install windows 7

if you are doing an upgrade from windows vista to windows 7 check first the version of your vista operating system, for example if you are using windows vista home premium 32 bit then the windows 7 CD that you need is windows 7 home premium 32 bit also, cant mix any versions or types of bit. it should be always the same. try also to download the windows upgrade advisory run it and check for programs and applications that you installed or pre-installed in your computer that cant affect the installation, remove those programs and applications that are not compatible with windows 7. just install those back again after.

if you are doing a clean installation of the windows 7
check first if the system requirements for windows 7 installation is applicable to the specification of your computer. if your system is capable the bqack up your files and go ahead with the installation

i hope this helps
Pls rate my resolution thanks!!
