The water is not shutting off on our ice maker. It fills the tray, freezes, and dumps the ice but does not shut the water off. We end up with water on the floor, in the fridge, and ice frozen under the ice tray. When we shut the ice maker off, we do not get any water. It is like a shut off is stuck open. What do I need to do to get the water to automatically shut off?

While this is not your exact question, the response answers your question. The water valve is what turns off the water to your icemaker. To be sure the valve is the problem, you can pull the refrigerator away from the wall and unplug it from the wall. Remove the panel on the lower back of the refrigerator, and unplug the wires from the water valve. Turn the water to the refrigerator on, and if the water runs into the icemaker, the water valve is the problem.

If the water does not run into the icemaker, the switch in the dispenser is bad.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Why is my ice tray filling to much and then it won't dump the ice?

There could be a few reasons why your ice tray is overfilling and not dumping the ice properly. One possibility is that the water inlet valve is not shutting off properly, causing too much water to enter the ice maker. Another possibility is that the ice maker itself is malfunctioning and not cycling properly.
Before calling a serviceman, you can try a few troubleshooting steps yourself. First, check the water supply line to ensure it is not kinked or clogged. You can also try adjusting the water fill level on the ice maker to see if that resolves the issue. If these steps do not work, it may be best to call a professional to diagnose and repair the problem.

Why does water not shut off after making ice

Is the bin drain line and dump drain line tied together. If so then it is melting ice from the bin. now when ice machine starts up it will dump the old water in sump tray so it will be fresh water during new freeze cycle.

Ice maker has ice motor doen't dump the ice

Your ice-maker may need to be "hard-reset". To do this, perform a manual-defrost by emptying out the freezer (and fridge) and shutting all power off to your unit for several hours (at least half a day unless you can be sure the temp in the freezer has fully reached ambient. Next, with freezer empty, restore power, make sure the "ice" setting is set to off, then set the forced power-freeze mode (you can refill the fridge, but leave the freezer empty for now. When the power-freeze completes (at least 2.5 hours) you can refill the freezer, set the "ice" mode to block/crushed (IE something other than off) and then hit the "black reset button" to restart the ice-maker. IF it still will not dump the cubes then the ice sensor/control board may have failed.

Ice maker running water into bin and ice is freezing over the top of the mold before dumping ... now it won't dump the ice

Most likely your water control valve for the ice maker side is not shutting completely. sometimes it's slow enough to freeze the fill tube shut and sometimes the valve is worn out and not seating. Let me see if I can find some parts I did not thaink Samsung Had a RB2 I was thinging. I'll check but you double check too. be back soon RS2155

Ice maker problems

The water dispenser is a separate line so it will not have bearing on the icemaker supply side. First up you can take a hair dryer and use it on the fill tube that fills the tray, it may have just frozen shut. If that does not solve the issue, fill the tray by hand and see if it freezes and dumps that ice. Let me know what you find

Ice Maker Overflowing

i would recommend changing the water valves as they may be sticking or leaking now you can take the icemaker loose get a small baby bottle short the terminals to cycle water fill catch it with the bottle and see how much water it dumps should be about 4 ounces if the valve leaks will over fill the ice maker over a period of time say the valve is leaking a few drops at a time and the bail arm has the icemaker shut off because its touching ice in the bin but the water just keeps dripping down the fill tube till it runs over did you replace the whole icemaker or just the motor module
