I can't play movies on my IBM 2002 Laptop computer. The message 'can't open dvdsimple://D:' keeps coming up.

Try to play dvd on other computer or laptop if dvd is playing their fine then it is problem with your dvd rom lance. also try to play other movie dvd on same dvd rom If other dvd play fine then their is problem with movie dvd.

Your computer needs to have wi fi

open netflix.com on your computer and log into your account.

If you do not have account create one.

open netflix /logon/ find a movie.

if error messages come up what are they?

Please install sound drivers, available from the manufacturers site.

Update your Laptop's driver from

And use VLC for playing video and audio files

Remove batter, unplug adapter, hold the on/off switch in for about 20 30 seconds. re-install battery and plug in and try to turn on, see if it comes on. good luck

Reinstall WinDVD

Use windows media player, if WinDVD won't work, or download VLC media player.

Assuming that you used the correct battery go ahead and unplug and replug the cmos batter back into its connector.

Go into the BIOS and set the date and time properly. Then unplug the battery and save the changes and exit.

See if the message comes back, if it doesn't then your good to go. If the message still comes back then the motheroard isn't keeping memeory at all.

Go ahead and shut off the machine for about 15 minutes. Then only plug the ac adapter up and hopefully the message stays away. If it does then that means the battery is good and your motherboard is good as well.

if you leave it off and then turn the laptop on and that error message comes back then you need to change out the motherboard.

Maybe your laptop is getting too hot. Turn off your system and try to use a vacuum cleaner where the fan is, but the right thing to do is to open it and clean.

This is generally an indication that the DVD end of the drive is going out. First try a different or updated DVD decoding software. It could just be a simple glitch with the software, or that the software is outdated.

Sounds like you need a DVD decoding software, ie... winvid, interdvd, and powerdvd. Windows media player will play some DVD's, but many DVD's, especially newer ones, need an additional decoder in order to work. You will be able to find the software at filehippo.com, download.com, or IBM's support site. Keep in mind that burning software, ie... nero, roxio, and dvd shrink, have decoders in order to burn the DVD, so they will work as a decoder in conjunction with your media player.
