We have dlink but upgraded to security program. Got the laptop to connect ok but could not get wireless printer and roku box to ever connect. Any suggestions or have others had this problem?

Upgrade to an ethernet cable connection between the router and the Roku. There is a slot on the side of the Roku box for it. This should enable you to enter the password- and give you a more stable streaming experience

Try lowering the security level on the Dlink router it's most likely set to high for the Roku to connect.

You can do this from the router's setup page on your computer. It's best to make changes from a PC that is connected with a network cable directly to the router.

Open a browser in the address bar type in 192.168.0.1 and hit enter.
The prompt for password XXXX come up the default for dlink router is admin proceed to next screen.

You will be at the dlink page click on "Wireless Settings" on the left side. Then click on the Manual Wireless Network Setup box.
Here you will see the wireless network name and security level change to WPA you can change the key also if you like to save the settings.

Try to connect your Roku to the wireless network.

1. Enter your wireless router setup page using a computer that is hardwired to your router.
2. Go to your Wi-fi protected setup options and disable Wi-fi protected setup (WPS). Apply this change.
3. Go to your wireless security settings and select your desired WPA or WPA2 security mode and your desired password (psk). Apply this change.
4. Go to your Channel and SSID settings tab and RENAME YOUR SSID. Apply this change.
5. Now view your wireless networks on your upgraded Windows 7 machine.
6. Select the newly named network.
7. Select "connect" and enter your new passkey/password.

Connect the modem to the router and the router to the roku player(wired/wireless)

Restart the roku player and check if you are able to see the welcome screen
If yes configure the settings on the player
Choose the network type,if wireless enter the security mode after connecting to the network
Then link the roku player and then activate your netflix account

If No then change the input on the television using the television remote

Then proceed as mentioned above

first you need to find the default gateway of the router,u need to do this settings in the computer which is wired to the router,securing the network over a wireless connections is not suggested..
click on start,run,and type in cmd,hit enter,a black box should appear in that box type in ipconfig and hit enter,once you hit enter it will give u a lot of results check the default gateway the generic default gateway is 192.168.0.1,might be different in your case incase if you have setup in a different manner,now open an internet explorer page and remove the website name that present in the addess box,now without http or www type in the numbers,it will tell you to put in the user name and password,username is blank and password is admin (this is generic to all the delink routers provided you have not changed it earlier,if u ave changed it then put in the user name and password that you have setup,now it should open a dlink router page,now in that router page you will see an option that will says wireless,under wireless you will see an option that says security,click on security,and then under security page you will see security mode,from here you can use the security type that you want to use and then save the changes once it has saved the changes you wireless netwokr will be secured.
PS:make sure the computer is connected with a wire to the router when we are setting the security in the wireless network....

the best would be trying to upgrading your router to a new firmware like tomato or dd-wrt which has much better features and your wireless device would start working.

www.dd-wrt.com that is the one i use and its fantastic.

Go to www.dlink.com for customer support.

Simply reset router and try connecting to Dlink network unsecured and then secure it again by logging into router.If still not working upgrade firmware on router.

Had same problem. Got it to work!!
I have DLink DP-311U and 2Wire Gateway router/modem 2701HG-B.

Solution: Connect DP-311U to router via network cable.
Then you can see it either with PS Admin or with browser http://192.168.0.10 should be default IP address of DLink Print Server. Set Connection Mode=Infrastructure, ESS-ID=2WIRExxx (xxx is your number of the router) - this is your network name, and wireless channel=1.
And the most important - change your IP Address to 192.168.1.xxx - xxx=choose a number over 64 if it's not taken already.

On your Gateway page: http://gateway.2wire.net/xslt?PAGE=J46&THISPAGE=A02_POST&NEXTPAGE=J46
Set Network Name=2WIRExxx, WIreless Channel=1, enable SSID Broadcast, Disable wireless network Security.

Once you get those numbers in, check connectivity with above programs with cable connected, or typing new print server IP address in browser. Then disable cable and check again. You should be able to see the box. Then connect print server to printer and make sure your printer settings on computer point to new IP address.

Try to upgrade the firmware revision to the last one (1.21).
I had similar problem with the dpr-1260 firmware rev 1.00.
Now after the firmware upgrade the problem seems solved
