Contact names doesn"t shown when

you may contact the service provider.........

First, format the phone.. Turn off the phone.. Press Answer key, number 3 and * and turn on the phone.. keep holding the keys.. It will reset your phone to factory settings..
the above steps does not work, download nokia software updater, connect your phone with pc using USB cable.. run nokia software updater... it will search for updates.. if it says that you are using current version, check the box which says reinstall current version..
if anything does not work, you need to visit nokia service center..

You save the number in your phonebook twice but with different name.

Try browsing this manual of E5 cellphone to be familiar with your phone. Most probably, the number of your friend was not saved to either your phone or into your sim. Or, it was saved twice in the same memory (phone or sim) that's why the phone cannot recognize the number.

do restore u may get back all the changes that you have made to default mode

this is because you have a duplicate contact name in your phone book.. if you have different contact name in your phone book with same number.. only the number will show up...

go to ur message settings and set the phone caller id on and press ok after some time when any message come from ur contact numbers it will show or it is unkonwn number means it will not shown

please service your mobile or change the sim card because problem is with your old sim cardor else the mobile you changed could be defective

options:
Contacts view—To select how the names and phone numbers
are shown.
When you view the Details of a contact with
Contacts view set to Name list or Name only.

when u have the name stored both in phone memory as well as sim memory this happens. try removing any one.
