I have a haier dishwasher but the water wont drain out of it. the power light remains on but turning the settings dial has no effect - looks like the pump may be blocked. how can i carry out a factory reset on the machine please ? ive tried tilting the whole unit forward & back in case there was a problem with the tilt switch but no luck.

How much is a small amount? I presume this is something new, since a little water always remains to protect the lower seal.

Otherwise, use a flashlight to look into the sink drain and ensure there is strong flow from the DW when it is pumping out water. If not, there may be an obstruction in the discharge line.

On some units (my Samsung??) there is a float chamber on the side (entire unit must be pulled from enclosure) that gets clogged and discombobulates (technical term??) the water level reading, allowing water to remain in the tub. Cleaning required!

Debris may also accumulate under the cover on the bottom of the tub which effects proper draining. Fasteners are usually obvious and you may be surprised at the mess.

Be careful to note positions of all gaskets and screws!

Reset it by turning power off to it or unplugging it for a minute. If it still wont work then you need to take the kick panel off and see if there is leak under the machine.

Kink in the line or possible obstruction in the discharge, very bad to leave stagment water in your dishwasher you can get contaminents that way, I suggest from experience and to be safe to use extra hot water and bleach a tablespoon or so, and flush thru there, also check the hoses make sure they are not blocked and thewre is an air gap, and the height of the discharge is proper. After flushing get a box of baking soda, and some distilled vinegar and under neath your sink you will see the discharge or p trap, either place that in there thru the sink drain or put in the dishwasher with no dishes of course and allow the vinegar and baking soda enough to just reach the drain turn off unit and let the vinegar bomb do its thing, this also works for your laundry drain too, always good to flush them every now and again, if you start getting water backing up in your tub, you need a pump of your septic tank, or a thaw, or if on city water and sewer, you have blockage, hope this helps, good luck

Since mine does the very same thing, it's my guess that is the sterilising cycle as by this point it has already washed, done a short fill to remove any remaining detergent, and two rinses. I'm also assuming the second short fill is just to cover the heating element and/or to to generate an amount of steam having being heated by the element (I'm basing that assumption on the heat of the dishes at the end of end of the cycle and the heat of the water when it drains)

Check your manual. Some dishwashers actually do leave water in them after the final drain cycle. It has to do with the type of seals they use. Some will leak the very first time they are used but not after that. The seals in these types must remain wet. If this isn''t the issue, wait about 5 minutes fir the timer to finish. Sometimes there is quite a lag at the last cycle. If all else fails, call the customer service number in the manual.

Not sure of the background on your fault, but this may help:
I have an HDW202. I accidentally opened the door while it was running - a no-no, but there is no lock preventing opening the door while it is running - not idiot-proof at all, disappointing, really. Anyway, closed the door, the washer kept running, then water started to leak out the front door. I quickly turned it off, mopped up the water, and turned it back on. It pumped out the remaining water visible in the bottom, then started flashing lights and doing 10 beeps in a row, pausing for a minute, 10 beeps in a row again, etc. - it was stuck in this cycle. I tilted the unit forward, backwards, and side to side, while turning it on and off periodically to check for results. More water came out of the unit, and it started to behave normally while tilted, but not level. Eventually, after more tilting, it returned to normal behaviour when level. It seems it did not pump all of the water out initially, and this was causing it to malfunction until all of the residual water inside had drained onto the floor from tilting the unit.

I useto have same problem. For some reason there was water under machine, then i tilted machine, clean water and problem solved. This is built-in dishwasher that is why water acumulates under machine and "leak cut off switch" turn off machine. You can't reset machine while you have water under, machine telling you there is a problem, but Haier wan't put solution on their site - Haier suport is very bad. Sorry for English and hope this help.

On another site, someone posted this: "I called (website), where it was purchased from, and they gave me the number for the manufacturer. Some standard troubleshooting did the trick and my dishwasher is working perfectly again. The troubleshooting involved tilting the dishwasher backwards at a 45-degree angle and letting any excess water drain out. They said ocassionally the water intake will be blocked and this process helps move anything that may have gotten in the way"

 

I was having the beeping problem too, and decided to give it a try, tipped it for a few, and found it to work!!! Hope this maybe helps!
