The red recording light is activated when I am recording - everything else seems to be working normally. When I go to replay there is no sound. Other earlier recordings are working. I've checked the VAS is switched off.

SOURCE: red record button will not depress to start recording

Check that you have not knocked the record tab out of the tape you are using.  Try a new tape.

It sounds to me that some part of the circuit possibly an IC is overheating after several hours and develops a fault.
This will be a very tricky thing to track down. So maybe best to take it to an authorised service agent.

Replaying a time recording program. Why does it replay in Spanish not English

Well, it seems like it is already in English, but the spanish wasn't translated because of malfunctions that who knows what happened, for setting caption should be off unless you want text, voices of blind people sounds like the program on t.v. you recorded.

When Im done recording and replay it, there are parts that have glitches and repeat itself. What do I do? I checked everything and everything seems to be ok. Im not sure how I can fix it.

Do you mean you're hearing reverb (echo) of recording? If your recording music or vocals make sure playback speakers are off when doing so. If you leave them on, you're recording multiple times IE: ECHO

It is probably a hard to find record electronics problem and possible that the record bias is staying on partially. This will erase partially the audio and apply the clicks. You are going to need a good Technician for this. Try this guy- I have confidence in him.

Problem with memory

The problem is simple to fix...shut off radio replays. Thought they are supposed to make you aware of low memory..the replays seem to automatically replace "loved" songs.

Magnovox MWR20V6 will not begin recording when it should.

This is more a work-around than a solution, as the unit is failing to function normally; however, having the identical problem I observed that the unit is failing to power on at 2:00 minutes before beginning recording, a necessary step to record to DVD.

My work-around is the following:

1) Set up the timer, inputting necessary date, time, etc. as normal. With the unit still powered on, start the timed recording mode by pressing timer set, as normal. You will see the red clock icon and the DVD logo iluminate on the VFD.

2) Press the Standby-On power button. This will power the unit on in VCR mode. You should at this time be unable to switch from VCR to DVD mode since the DVD is still in timer mode. LEAVE THE UNIT POWERED ON in this manner. The timer will function and the DVD will record normally.

I have no clue why my unit suddenly forgot how to power up on its own in order to record to DVD. If anyone has an answer for that one please post!

Microsoft webcam VX 6000. Buzz on video capture

I took the cam apart, removed the mic from its seat and gently separated the red and black wires - ran the red one over top the lens and the black one underneath. Replaced the mic, screwed it all back together and the problem is gone. For now. One tip is to record sound using Windows Sound Recorder while you're doing this, watch the input line and when it goes flat you know the buzz is gone. While it buzzez, the line will be active.
