PIP is indeed Picture In Picture.

You may be able to activate it through the MENU button on the tv itself. You could check this by looking in your USER'S MANUAL. You can probably download a copy if you lost your original, just go to the TV manufacturer's website (www.sony.com if the tv was a sony) and go to the SUPPORT or DOWNLOADS page and type in your tv's model number, then click on DOWNLOAD ENGLISH MANUAL.

Otherwise you will have to get a UNIVERSAL REMOTE, probably one of the fancier (read more expensive) ones with more buttons / options. No more than $30 I would think for a good ONE FOR ALL brand universal remote or something similar.

Good luck and please comment back if this was helpful.

How to work pip in vizio tv

PIP or picture in picture works in two ways with the original remote--new sets with this actually have two tuners in them, one for main picture and one for PIP picture, you can change channels in both, swap the PIP to the main picture or even have both side by side.

Sure its got the PIP? what is brand and model number ?

Can't get pnp to work

I presume you mean PIP which is picture in picture---the only button which will control it is on the original remote--PIP, SWAP etc.

The set uses two tuners inside for this--one is main and other is PIP--you may have a bad tuner.

If PIP button brings up a screen--hit the swap to see what happens-if one is nothing or snow and other has a picture--got a bad tuner--it can be either (some are combined into a single tuner).

The pip got stuck using a universal remote..i cannot clear it no matter what button I use

If you can access the Menu options with your present universal remote, get into it, and surf thorugh picture adjustment and PIP adjustment screen, and set the PIP option to OFF. If you can't access the Menu option with your present remote control, there is no other way to do this without its original remote control.

95% chance you have the PIP engaged---going to need original remote to go into menu and locate it.

If the remote is original it should have a PIP (picture in picture) button on it that will turn that off.

Many TV functions can be controlled from the on-screen menus using buttons on the TV itself. These include all kinds of settings however Sony did not include PIP in these menus. Therefore a valid remote is required to operate PIP. One thing you could try is removing the cable from the secondary input on the TV which provides the signal for the other picture. Without an input signal PIP may be disabled. Also, try buying a universal remote and setting the proper code for your TV. Original remote could be hard to find but remotes.com may have one.

We have a universal remote and the picture in picture was turned on accidentally..how do I turn it off..it's a hitachi tv

Usually the PiP button scrolls through the PiP modes, so your best chance is to find the button that did it and give it another press or two. If you're unlucky, you might find that on the original remote the button to turn off PiP was a seperate one that doesn't correspond to the universal remote... In this case, try unplugging the TV fro the power and leaving for a few hours before turning on again. This might reset the PiP setting.

you do NOT need to buy the original remote!! press the setup button on the front of the tv, then you will see a menu and you want to select auto set up by pressing the volume minus button and then the tv will automatically start to scan for channels and pip will be gone! Pain in the booty but save you from buying original remote!!
