The issue is that I had an XP machine and I bought a brand new HP deskktop Windows 7 and as soon as I turned it on I got a message on my Kogi that I should change the settings to 1280 X1024. Since I did not know how to do that, I installed a old CRT monitor and finished the new computer install, then went into control panel and tried to change to 1280 X 1024 but it didn't give that option as it recognized the old CRT. I then live-swapped the monitors and the Kogi worked as it was set for the CRT settings. When I had Windows "discover" the kogi monitor it again went to the 1280 X 1024 and the kogi would not work. The kogi works if I boot the PC with the CRT monitor then live-swap to the kogi. I think I need to somehow change the kogi to 1280 X 1024 but I don't know how. I hate to have to buy a new monitor. Am I on the right path?

I have windows vista and keep getting a message that my password expires soon. I forgot the password. Is there a way to get it. Thanks

are you locked out of VISTA desktop, not told??????
yes that is a vista option, but not by default ever.
we can not see your screen to see the truth.
there are 7 layers (or more) on any modern PC, even fingerprint reader.
learn to post a photo of any screen you see , that fails.
even use cell phone to do that and magic happens , truth.
no PC told at all, 4 decades of them back to compaq HP days.
vista means jan 2007 made PC if came new like that.
yes one can set VISTA (any windows) to expire soon.
but that is not the default ever.
if someone did that to you the answer is simple.
control panel + users
change it.

I bought a new laptop a few months ago and am just getting around to connecting my HP ScanJet 3400. It worked fine on my Windows XP laptop but they say there are no drivers for Windows 7 available for...

Unfortunately no! the only suggestion I can offer is check the HP site to see if they offer an update driver for windows 7, if not I'am afraid you are out of luck.

Sir i have another problem , I have HP 210-1033tu when i got the machine it have windows XP home edition installed , right now i dont have any recovery backup and my machine crashed, i have tried many...

MAny programs that "require" windows XP to install, can be told by windows7 that they are being installed in XP by installing them in a XP compatibility mode.

Open up Computer, and choose the C drive
If it prompts you with a security warning, tell it to open it anyways.
Create a new folder on the C drive (if you were trying to install Corel Draw for example, make a folder called Corel CD)
Open computer again and right click the CD drive, and select open.
Re-size/move this window so that you can still see the C:\corelCD folder (for example)
single click any file or folder in the CD's main folder, and press CTRL-A then CTRL-C
Click anywhere in the new folder you created (ie, c:\corelCD) and press CTRL-V
once all the files are copied, single click the SETUP or INSTALL icon (Ususally Setup.exe)
right click and choose properties
Click the Compatibility tab at the top, and choose compatibility for XP Service Pack 3
also choose run as administrator.
Click OK
Now double click the setup.exe and it should install under windows7 without issues

Before HP had win7 drivers for many of our printers, that was the unofficial fix to install the print driver from the CD to win7.
Later downloads were offered off the website that didn't have this issue - but when a lot of those failed, it was back to "here's how to install the original XP driver" as a solution!
Good Luck!

I was trying out the cyberlink webcam on my HP laptop and it doesnt show any picture. I was wondering how I could fix that and turn it back on?

Try going to the hp website and searching for your brand of laptop and downloading or updating the webcam driver, when i went from vista back to XP i had to download and reinstall some of my drivers again, now that I have upgraded to windows 7 i have had no issues, windows 7 rocks!
