The only situation, when windows explorer will open on pressing "E" is that when the "windows key" on keyboard is still pressed in otherwise there is no reason why windows explorer will open

You can always try to restore the computer to a previous state to resolve this issue, even though i think its not going to help in this situation.

Why dell inspiron doesn't print single quote/double quote chracter ?

Hi Cani
Assuming that the Keyboard keys are all functioning, I would try changing the current Font to something else to see if this changes the fault. You could also try re starting (Reboot) your machine in Safe mode, to see if the fault disappears....

How to update BIOS on Foxconn 945 7AD Series please?

You are hitting the wrong key... You need to hit the <Del> Key. Hit the delete key several times at startup not "alt+f".

I created an Excel program and somehow hit something that caused it to become a "read only" file that I cannot change nor add to. How did it happen, and how do I remove the "read only"...

Here are the steps on how you can make it a read/write file:

  1. Make sure that the file is not open in Excel.
  2. On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.
  3. In the Exploring window, open the drive or folder that contains the file.
  4. Click the file name.
  5. On the File menu, click Properties.
  6. Click the General tab.
  7. Clear the Read-only check box.

Hope this helps!

Have anyone heard of this: How-To: Find Windows XP Product Key from the Windows XP CD: 1) Insert Windows XP cd into a working computer. 2) Exit the Autorun introduction. 3) Open ?My Computer? 4)...

If you are testing this on an already installed windows XP it will report as incorrect. On a new installation it will work. By new I mean a removed and a replaced partition.
It is an emergency installation when the original has been lost. It also somehow ties up with the original issued number by its sequencing. MS can tell you the original code from this series of alpha numerals if this series of alphas are quoted.

Wireless 1000 keyboard not supporting standard Windows F-keys

I had the same problem. I just could not get the "Alt-F4" function to work in a macro.

In the Macro Editor, in the lower center, you will see the "Z" actions. I realized I wanted the "Press and hold Z" function.

To get this, use "Inserting Special..." function to insert the Alt key stroke in the macro.

Then highlight the Alt in the Editor. Right Click and select "Split."

This will put the "Press and hold Z key" and "Release Z key" icons in the Editor.

What you want is the "Press and hold" function. Delete any other references the the Alt key.

Then enter the F4 key, and there you have it.

Hope this all makes sense to you.
