Inherited this 2200 w/ new political office. Was working fine and making clear copies - then error code E000000-0000. Restarted machine - tried Press * Press 2 Press 8 Press * - got nothing. Help.

2. If the error comes back right away then you know you have a more serious problem and it's time to find out what needs cleaned or replaced.
Service Mode Entry
1. Press the User Mode key. (Looks like a little man head. Some people call it the function or additional function key.)
2. Press 2 and 8 on the keypad at the same time.
3. Press the User Mode key on the control panel.
If done correctly the display will read

FEEDER
SORTER
FAX
BOARD
Press the Copier Icon
Press the Function Icon
Press the Clear Icon
Press the Err Icon
To exit service mode : Press the Reset key twice to end service mode and return to the User screen

what you need to do is just resetting your machine.
1. Press * 28 * on your machine in a quick move.
2. Select copier
3. Select Err.
4. Select Clear then press O.K
5. Turn your machine off for 1 minute and turn it on again.

The error code will not be there anatmoreand your machine will be functioning well.

First clear that error from service mode. Press additional function
press 2 and 8 together
press additional function agian
service mode should appear in screen
select copier
select function
select "clear"
select "err"
select ok.
unplug power cord for a few seconds and restart the machine
try to make some copies if problem persist replace the fixing heater assembly

on the control panel press:

should appear ins screen "#sssw"
search with the left arrow until "CLEAR" appear on screen
press ok
search with the left arrow until "ENGINE" appear on screen
press ok
the screen displays: ERRCLR press ok again
turn off the machine from the main switch (located on the left side of the machine) for 5 seconds
turn back on the machine and try to make some copies
if problem persist replace fixing film assembly

switch on the machine, press *(additional function) 2and8 together and again *, on screen select copier>function>clear>error>ok. switch off the machine and restart.still problem appears then check fuser unit.

Honestly if dell told you to get a new one then that is what you should do.

i had error 2200 on my X7170 lexmark....i turned it off.uninstalled the lexmark software in uninstall/add programs in the control panel.restarted my computer.installed the software again....then worked like a charm....hope it works...peace.
