Will a Nikon Sigma 70-210 work on my nikon D60??

Could you be a little more specific about "does not work"? Does the lens not fit? Can you not view through the lens when it's attached? Does it not autofocus? Does it not meter the exposure properly?

Do you mean the EF 430? If so, then yes, it is compatible with the D60 and D7000, at least as far as the flash trigger voltage is concerned. You may not get all the capabilities of more recent Nikon flashes, but it will work.

Yes, the lens is compatible with the D60, with one proviso. The D60 lacks an autofocus motor, relying on the lens to have one. This lens does not, so the autofocus feature will not work. Other than that, everything else will work.

Sigma make this lens with different mountings (i.e. Canon, Nikon, Sony/Minolta, Pentax and Sigma). So, if you get this lens with the Canon mounting - yes it'll work with your D60. Any other mounting will not fit on your camera. Hope that helps

Yes and no. Assuming you get the version with the Nikon mount, it will fit on the D60 and the exposure metering will work fine. However, as it's not an HSM lens, lacking a focus meter, it will not autofocus on the D60.

This lens has a motor fitted to it to work on a D60 have you moved the A/M switch to M if not the lens is faulty and will need repair

Hi I had a similar problem with a 50mm prime and I fixed it by locking the aperture ring on the lens in place.

Oh, dear! You have a number of options open to you, depending on how you ordered/purchased your lens:

1. If you ordered your lens WITHOUT specifying that it was for Nikon, you may be stumped - unless you contact your seller and explain; they may, then, accept the lens back in exchange for the correct item. I realise that this will be costly on added shipping costs, though.

2. You could sell the lens you have just purchased (on eBay, for instance), then order the Nikon-fit lens from the original supplier.

3. Order a lens converter from the likes of SRB~Griturn. This is likely to be more expensive, though, than the above solutions as a bespoke adapter will probably have to be manufactured. As you are talking about an AF rather than a manual lens, it will cost heaps more!

I will try to help you, but please understand that my experience is with Nikon film cameras. Assuming that the D60 works in a manner similar to a Nikon 35 mm body and that Sigma macro lens work like Nikon macro lens, you should be able to determine the usable subject to lens distance by experimentation. First, make sure the lens is in the macro mode. To do this you must set the auto-focus mode control to the manual focus mode (see your manual). On Nikon lenses, you must first set the focus ring to infinity, then move slider switch, which has two positions marked; "normal" and "macro., to the macro position. You should now be able to rotate the focus ring to the macro range. Use the zoom ring to zoom in and out and focus with the focus ring. The the range over which the lens to subject to lens distance will yield an in focus image will be rather limited and in the range of an inch or so to 6 or 8 inches.
