If the imaging device is missing in the device manager, it is generally considered to be an hardware related issue. But, there are chances even in this situation the camera has worked after performing some troubleshooting steps:
Try opening the preinstalled
ArcSoft WebCam Companion Software in the computer and check if there also you are getting the message, " Camera device not found".
If so then the issue may be resolved by reinstalling the Camera driver. In your case the computer uses inbox driver shipped with the OS. But, as it is Sony try reinstall the original
ArcSoft WebCam Companion® Software from the esupport website.
If that also doesn't work, download and install the Camera driver:

In that case, extract the setup file of the above driver using the Universal Extractor and then run teh setup, this usually works!!!!.
