Try unplugging the machine, waiting a couple minutes, then holding down the power button as you plug it back in. Hopefully you will hear a "beep". Then unplug it again, wait a couple minutes, and plug it back in. This procedure works for clearing the "E1" code from some of the Sharp models, so maybe you will get lucky and the same manufacturer made the control board in your machine! Couldn't hurt to try it out. ;)

These units have a capacitor that cannot be replaced. You'll need to buy the whole circuit board. I didn't bother with mine, I just went and bought another unit. 108 bucks.

After pressing the reset switch on the plug. Wait 3 minutes before attempting to start the unit. The reset has a time delay.
This is only the first of many things you may need to do to determine the fault. But it is a process for determining the exact cause.
Make sure the ac adapter is correctly plugged into the notebook and into the power cord.
If
everything is plugged in correctly and it still will not power on,
follow these steps to complete a 'power reset' of the notebook.
