How can i make a movie maker?

Windows Movie Maker is located online here: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker
There are many other alternatives but, this program is free and is very easy to use. You can directly upload to youtube, burn to a cd, or save the video to your hard drive with this program.

HELP I made a movie using Windows (Vista) Movie Maker, was able to burn it to a CD-R and it appears to have burned to a DVD-R but it won't play on my DVD - message says: Playback feature not available

Well it looks like you saved it in the wrong format and belave me I done this as well save it as a MPG or AVI and not WMA or WMV your going to need another disc to burn but we all learn from little mistakes I pray it works for you if not you may need to use like NERO instead or ROXIO is good too good luck to you..

I have saved a movie from movie maker and I have tried to burn it to a dvd. I see that it has saved it but it hasn't burned the movie to the dvd. How do I burn it to the dvd.

I beleive that in Windows, when burning something on to disc (be it CD or DVD), you have to go to the actual drive window (via "My Computer" and select "Burn these items to disc". From what I remember of the days I burned discs this then burns the file onto the disc.

Hope this helps!

How to convert mini dv into cd. Does it require data cable or some special software to do so.

smartjanivj,

This depends on what kind of CD you wish to make. If you simply wish to put the videos on the CD as data to be viewed later on another computer, you can transfer the video into windows movie maker (most PC's come with this free program) with File > Import video from Digital Video Camera, and then your movie can be saved via File > Publish Movie. Select "This Computer" and click Next. Select a name for your movie and the directory in which you want to save the file and click Next. Then adjust any final settings and click Publish. Then you can burn that file onto a CD.

However if you wish to make a DVD, follow the same steps as above but instead of selecting "This Computer", select "DVD". NOTE This step only works if you also have Windows DVD Maker installed.

Both Windows Movie Maker and Windows DVD maker can be downloaded for free off the internet, if they are not already on your computer.

Hope this helps :)

Saving in DVD format

The DVD format is VOB. In the Windows Movie Maker you can save movies as DV-AVI, but in order to burn them onto a DVD disc you should convert them into VOB files using burning software (for example- Nero).
