Question about KitchenAid Pasta Roller / Cutter Set

I have a broken part in the pasta cutter, can't find parts to purchase online- only can find parts for the mixer itself, not parts for accessories/attachments.

Me too! I need a nylon gear for the spaghetti cutter, and I can't find anything about it anywhere.

KitchenAid doesn't sell any internal parts for the KitchenAid pasta attachments, the only thing to do is buy a replacement, if it is just the pasta roller you can purchase the KPSA, if not the others are just sold in the KPRA pack

Brass shearing pin

All of the KitchenAid pasta attachments are considered non-serviceable. There are not any parts available. You only option would be to buy a new pasta roller. KitchenAid has recently made the roller available by itself so you do not have to purchase it in a whole pack.

We carry the pasta roller, here is a link to the item on our website:http://www.mendingshed.com/kpsa.html

KitchenAid KPRA Brass input shaft sheared. Need a replacement

The "brass input shaft" is designed to break in the event of too much torque being applied; it acts as a shear pin. For safety considerations, I would be careful what I used to replace the shear bolt/shaft. Failure of the shear bolt is necessary to prevent more serious damage to either: 1) the mixer, 2) the pasta attachment, and perhaps most importantly 3) the object stuck in the pasta attachment (think of ingested clothing, hair, fingers, etc). Unfortunately, KitchenAid refuses to supply replacement shear bolts (and I couldn't get an answer as to why); however, they seem pretty good about replacing the attachment under warranty. But logic dictates that a part, such as a shear pin, that is designed to fail, will have a high probability of breaking long after the warranty period has expired. To that end, I have machined a bunch of spare shear bolts to the same physical dimensions as the original part out of 5/16" brass hex stock. I would consider making some available to others in need at a nominal fee.

The first time I used my new pasta roller I seem to have burned up something in my Kitchenaid mixer. What happened?

First Question that comes to mind, is the motor even running. If it is and there is nothing visible moving, you probably stripped the gears in the head of the unit. If the motor doesn't run, the brushes may have coincidendally worn out. Need more information. Reccomend taking the top cover off while it is unplugged and checking the gears and brushes. The Plastic gear (When I got mine) was a bit pricey, but a lot cheaper than a new mixer. If you wore out the brushes, You may just want to consider a new machine since you evidently got a lot of use out of it. Almost everything is replaceable in the mixer

this is common for any device that has a motor, either the gears are grinding or the motors contact brushes need replacing, it will have to be looked at to determine the exact cause
