SOURCE: Acer Aspire 6930 wifi will NOT turn on when the button is pressed
instead of going through all of that, the best and easiest way to try and fix it is to download the driver from the Acer website.
look up the model on the website and download and install the wireless driver.
This way will definitely fix it if there is a driver error.
SOURCE: where is the wireless connection button on the acer aspire 6930?
The switch for the 6930 is located just above the NumLock key. It actually looks like an LED indicator of a satellite dish, but it's not. It's the button for the WiFi enable/disable. Push it hard...

I had the same problem. I fixed it by taking the front panel above the keyboard off (requires removing 9 or 10 screws from the bottom side), then I made sure the LCD and power cables were plugged in firmly, and finally I did a power reset just for fun. I did this early yesterday evening, and so far it's seemed to work.

Please uninstall the Wireless driver in the Device manager and then select the "Scan for hardware changes icon" available at the top.
