Obvious answers are 1. a burr on the striker, 2. a bent striker. 3. a trapped staple 4. a broken return spring. other than that I cant help you without seeing it.

If your battery is fully charged but your stapler is not shooting staples, there are a few potential causes for this problem:
The stapler's mechanism may be jammed or stuck. Check the stapler's mechanism and clear any jams or debris that may be preventing it from functioning properly.

unplug it and flip it over and see if there is something jammed if not, then when its still upside down, and unplugged find something flat and stiff about the width of the blade of the stapler. slide it up and make sure the driver blade is returning. if it doesn't go up the staples cannot feed and while it will fire it wont be on top of the staple when it fires.
You shouldn't have to do anything to the MIIIFS flooring stapler to shoot 2" staples. It is designed to shoot 1 1/2" to 2" staples right out of the box. If your stapler won't feed 2" staples, check the magazine all the way up to the power head for any foreign material that may hold up your staples.
With the stapler sitting a solid surface, turn it 180 degrees so it is pointed away from you, and you are looking at the back. Press down on the plastic extension that you see (about mid-height on the stapler). This releases the staple-holding compartment (it shoots out the front of the stapler). Reload it with standard staples, push the compartment back in place until you hear a click. Voila!
It sounds like the gun is working properly but is having feeding problems. First, make sure you are using the proper staples for your gun. Senco makes three versions of the SKS(XP) stapler: The SKS L11-17 drives 18 gauge, 1/4" staples. The SKS M12-17 drives 18 gauge, 3/8" staples. The SKS N12-17 drives 16 guage, 7/16" staples. None of them use staples over 1 1/2" long and each gun will only shoot the staples it is set up for. If you are using the correct staples make sure the rail and nose peices are clean and the feeder shoe and staples are riding freely on the rail and the feeder spring holds them firmly forward in the gun. Lastly check the tip of the driver to make sure it is square, it should not be rounded or have any chips out of it.
Did you look for a staple jammed in the driver mechanism? If the piston is stuck down, it won't respond to the trigger. Try smacking the top of the stapler onto a wooden bench to see if the force will release the piston. Make sure that you use air-tool oil for lubrication inside the tool. Hope this gets you running!
There is a contact switch / lever on the staplers that engages the stapler when it is pressed. It must be stuck. locate the lever and see if that's the case, and release it if you can. just my 2 cents, because I'm a copier/fax tech -not a stapler expert :)
