I have a nine year old Maytag top loading washer, model # MAV6200AWQ. After it completed a cycle last night there is now maybe 1/2 cup of water on the floor under it. Tilted it on its side, and a tiny bit more drained out a weep/access hole. This is a brand new problem. Otherwise, machine works great.

Your dish washer just need a good cleaning. Plastic is holds odors.

Pour 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher. Run on hot and heavy load. Spread 1/2 cup of baking soda in the bottom of the dishwasher and let set over night. Run the dishwasher in the morning.

It is your water pump. If you don't know what you are doing it could be tough.

My guess is that one of the three counterweights have separated from their support. Probably rusted away.
36 years is quite a feat. Today's machines would be lucky to 1/3 of that life.

ck the water pump, only if it agitates but doesnt drain. If it completely stops after filling, ck lid switch(should here clicking noise from sw.)

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim

Is the drain path free-flowing? That is, does the water eject freely during spin/rinse? Maybe there's a restriction in the line, or it's too high above the washer.
