Easy to fix so don't worry ;)

While the PS3 is off (solid red led)

Hold down the power button until you hear the SECOND BEEP, quickly release.

This will reset the video settings back to default.

;)

How do i get my hdmi to work for my ps3 system

Note: How to reset video output settings
If you are attempting to change to an HDMI cable from a different video cable or if the video output settings do not match those required for the display in use, the screen may stay black. If the screen stays black for more than 30 seconds, you may need to reset the video output settings of the PS3.

To reset video output settings:

  1. Turn the PS3 system off by holding the Power button on the front of the console till you see the power light turn red.
  2. Then hold the power button on the front of the console for at least five seconds until you hear a second beep to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

Minimum Requirements

  • PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system
  • SIXAXISTM wireless controller (and USB cable)
  • AC power cord
  • HDMI cable1 (sold separately)
  • TV or display monitor with HDMI port and capable of displaying picture in HD resolution
  • Updated system software installed on your PS3
Visit PS3 System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.
  • TV "Input" or "Video" channel for the HDMI port
You need to know the TV "Input" or "Video" channel for the HDMI port on your TV. For instance, if your TV has multiple "Input" or "Video" channels, (i.e., "Input 1", "Input 2", "Input 3", etc.), you will need to toggle through each "Input" channel on your TV until you find the correct channel that displays the HDMI picture. This is important to remember, especially if you do not see the HDMI picture after you connect the cable and configure the PS3 settings. Please refer to the TV instruction manual for more information.

  5. Turn on the PS3 by pressing the touch-sensitive [On/Off button] on the system front. The red light will turn green, indicating the PS3 is now turned on.
Note: The blue light will also appear on the front of the system if you have a disc inserted.
  6. Plug in the TV and turn the power on. The PS3 should detect the HDMI display device automatically. When prompted, "Do you want to output video and audio using HDMI?", select YES and press the alt="X button icon">button. (You may need to press the PS button on the center of the SIXAXISTMcontroller to enable the controller first).
  7. The next screen will ask, "Do you want to automatically switch to the optimal setting?" Select YES and press the alt="X button icon">button.
  8. On the next screen, the PS3 will display the maximum resolution capable on the display (i.e., 1080p). The screen will display, "Do you accept the setting?" Im not getting anything (soud or picture) with the red, yellow, and, white cords. thats because it is set for the HDMI cable. how do i get the picture to come in without a HDMI compatable TV?

Sounds to me like you will need to plug the PS3 into a HDMI capable display and change the output settings on the PS3 to composite / AV.
Then reconnect to the non HDMI TV. The red, yellow and white cables should now work.

PS3 used to work on TV in bedroom and on TV in lounge, now it won't work on TV in bedroom

I believe your Lounge TV is an HDTV and your Bedroom TV isn't, This is what you have to do:
1. Connect it to
your Lounge TV with an HDMI cable and a red/white/yellow cable.
2. Turn it on and go to the display settings and switch it to the composite cable setting.
3. Change your TV channel where you would see the red/white/yellow cable and accept it that way.
4. You should be all set. Take it to the regular TV and connect it with the red/white/yellow cable.
cheers :)

Fixed ps3 ylod but now no picture and sound. what could this be? and how could i fix it?

If your tv output it av (red white and yellow cables and av connection), then make sure you push the cables in properly. If that doesn't work then if you have a ps2, use that av cable and switch it with your ps3 one (theyre both the same). And if your output is hdmi, than either the cable is faulty, the tv or the ps3. And for av connection if none of those options worked then its probably your ps3.

Sharp Aquos LC-32B20E wont display a PS3 output via HDMI

kitconnolly,

I too went through this problem.

Step 1 - Plug in your "composite" cables and the HDMI cable to the PS3. Obviously, the "composite" cable are the ones that came with the system. You need to start with them as the default connector.

Step 2 - After connecting the "composite" cable and the HDMI cable to the PS3, connect the other ends to your TV.

Step 3 - Power on your PS3

Step 4 - Select display settings-->video output settings

Step 5 - Change from the current video cables to HDMI. (Your tv has different inputs. When you switch to HDMI in the PS3, you will have to switch your TV to the HDMI input that it is connected to, to get a picture)

Step 6 - Be quick, the PS3 will display a "test" for 30 seconds. You need to switch your tv to the correct HDMI input and press "X" on your controller to accept the change.

Let me know how this works for you.

Model 60PL9200D/37 no sound

What device is connected to TV: cable, sat box, dvd player? What type of cable are you using to connect to the accessory device?

For a red, white, and yellow cable:
I cannot hear sound from the television when connecting to the AV1 input. What do I need to do?
Answer When you connect the accessory device to the AV1 input of the TV using either component video cables (YPbPr) or composite video cable (Yellow), you must connect the audio output from the accessory device to the 'INPUT AV1 AUDIO L R' of the TV using the RCA audio cables (Red and White).
If the connection is good,

Check to ensure that the AV1 audio source from the TV on-screen menu is selected to AV1.
  1. Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control.
  2. Press the cursor up/down to select SETUP and press the cursor right.
  3. Press the cursor up/down to select SOURCE and press the cursor right.
  4. Press the cursor up/down to select ANALOG AUDIO IN and press the cursor right.
  5. Press the cursor up/down to select AV1 and press the 'OK' button.
  6. Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.
Make sure that the volume on the TV and on the device is set at an audible level and also that the sound hasn't been muted.

For HDMI,
The picture quality is good but the TV does not produce any sound when connected to an accessory device with an HDMI to HDMI cable.

Answer
  • The TV's behavior is considered to be normal as some accessory devices have an HDMI audio output setting that requires to be turned on when using an HDMI to HDMI connection.
  • Check the on-screen menu of the accessory device to ensure that the HDMI audio output is set to ON.
  • In some cases, you may need to set the digital out audio stream of the accessory device to PCM.
  • For detailed information, please refer to the user manual of the accessory device.
