Well if you formatted it and want to recover the information that was on it there are several programs you there that can do just that. first...stop trying to fix it. here are some links for the software to recover your files and programs/data.

here is the instructions http://www.recovermyfiles.com/unformat.php

let me know how this comes out. just know the actual recovery percentage without loss is around 97.3%. meaning that not all files are recoverable.
If you have any problems let me know and please leave positive feedback for me. Jethro

I accidently formated my wd my book essential by hp usb storage format tool..and i lost all the data please help me

How many seconds did the FORMAT take? Just a few, or literally an hour or two?
If the former, it was a "quick-format" -- basically just writing an "empty" table-of-contents to the disk-drive, and *NOT* touching the blocks on the disk that hold your data.
If the latter, then a lot of "zero" bytes have been written on EVERY block on the disk,
totalling wiping-out your data.

If the former, then there exist "file scavenger tools" that will read every block, and try to reconstruct the previous "table-of-contents".

I accidently formated my panasonic VDR-D210 DVD using the DVD recorder menu. Can I unformat the DVD and recover my video?

When you reformat again using the proper disk, you should be ok with formatting. Whether or not you can recover the video is yet to be seen. Regards, Joe

Disk is not formated.

You can check on Western Digitals website and see what kind of utilities they have for that hard drive as far as diagnostics, repair, and recovery are concerned.

You could try another computer and see if its doing the same thing?

If neither option works you may have not choice but to format the problem to get the hard drive repaired and working again.
