Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.
Normally there are two reasons for the given problem.
1). Bad or defective CCD. and/or
2). shutter not working.
in
the first case the only solution is the replacement of the CCD. Please click HERE
And in
the later case sticking of shutter blade, non functioning of shutter
blade will cause the problem. This can be rectified by sending it to
some repairer.
Possible fault with the display unit. The display unit is not processing the video image and could be defective in this circuit.
Since the camera is working fine I would advice that you use the camera fully than to open to tamper. But if you are able to open with the prescribed tools then open to see if there is any loose links or visible faults like connection or dry solderring in the main board. However if the fault is a failure then we need to go back to get the part from Samsung.
Decide on with this advice.

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!
