Asko 620 washer won't drain well with heavy load

Washing machine won't drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Overloading your washing machine can cause items to be swept into the space between the inner and outer tub, leading to clogs in the drain hose or pump. These clogs may be the reason for why your washing machine won't drain. Here are some steps to help you determine the problem and solution:

1. Pinched hose: Is the drain hose at the back of the washer been flattened or twisted in any area? A pinched hose could prevent the water from draining thoroughly. Gently straighten the hose, and make sure there is sufficient room between the back of the washing machine and the wall to prevent a repeat of the problem.

2. Clogged drain hose or pump:
Does the drum spin normally, but the washing machine won't drain the water? Sometimes a piece of clothing, money, fabric or other debris gets into the water between the inner and outer tub. It may then make its way into a drain hose or even into the pump itself. The farther into the machinery a clog goes, the trickier it can be to remove. Call a repair professional for help.

3. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

4. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

5. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Have a washing machine repair expert determine if the impeller is jammed and can be cleared, or if the pump needs to be replaced.

6. Pump failure: Is your washing machine more than 7 years old? Your pump may simply have worn out. Even if it sounds as though it is running, the pump may not be working well enough to draw the water out of the machine. Replacement parts for pumps are generally unavailable. A new pump may be necessary.

Machine won't drain

You will find that the pump is blocked, you need to attempt to remove as much of the water as possible and as rugs are not the best thing to wash in a washing machine they tend to shed a lot and get the bits stuck in the pump. You may have to completely remove the pump from the machine in order to completely clean it.

Maytag centennial washer not working properly in Normal cycle. After it shuts off there is still water in the bottom of the tub. I can move the dial to another setting such as Casual cycle or Heavy Duty...

We have the same problem. The Normal cycle still works, but after the final spin cycle, water is again added (1 gal est.) and the machine stops. Problem occurred after washing an old 25 x 30 inch rug which partially disentegrated when washed. We were seeing particles of the rug in subsequent wash cycles during drain into laundry tub. Don't know if something is plugged in the washer or if it is something else. In another load after the rug wash, the top of the washer was lifted during the wash cycle. The water problem occurred immediately after lifting the lid as the wash load went through remaining cycles. Maybe this affected the timer? Maytag customer service suggested unplugging power cord to re-set timer. This didn't make any difference. We need a technician to tell us if this is a timer problem or something else?

Washed a small bath rug in the machine. The piece of rug said it was washing machine safe. The rug broke apart as I was washing it and now the washing maching will not drain. I have to open the bottom...

This becomes a long drawn out process in which you have to remove the pump and the entire drain line and wash all the backing out of the machine also you have to remove the lines that go from the tub to the pump as well and even after you finish cleaning out the drain system you still will have more pieces stuck inside the tub area that you have to clean out as well. Easiest way take the machine outside or to an area you can use a hose on the unit where after you disassemble the entire pump area that you can wash the tub out of all the small pieces of the rug backing I had the unfortunate repair of doing this to someones rubber backed rug cept it took all the rubber off the back of the rug. It took about 3 hours with hooking and rehooking the drain lines and unclogging them over and over due to this unit I was working on was in a basement and no access to a hose If you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future Thanks again Rick
p.s do this repair yourself a repair technician would charge about 200 to repair the unit due to the amount of time

Okay so i was washing my daughters rug, that's fine to go in the washing machine and now it wont drain the water, The rug drop all this lint stuff, I've taken the rug out of the washing machine and i cant...

My guess is that something has plugged the filtere trap below the tub. Depending on wht model you have you can acces the trap from the front panel or rear panel. Get a bucket hand beacuse water will flow when you open the trap. If this gets clogged your machine will stop. dcramer531_75.jpgdcramer531_76.jpg No mater what machine you have the filter will look something like this, once it is cleaned out you will be good to go. If you like my free advice I would appreciate the 4 thumbs up vote and glad I can help.

Maytag MLE2000AYW not draining

When you removed that clog after the pump you should have gotten very very wet if that was the only clog.
You will have to bail the water out of the tub or pull it out with a shop vac,and even then when you remove the other side of the hose on the pump you'll get a couple gallons of water coming at you, throw some towels over the motor control on the right front corner so it doesn't get wet and have more ready for the gush of water coming out.
Throw rugs were notorious for clogging these hoses up also check the out going hose from the pump to the drain,if you have the heavy rubber hose run something through it to make sure it is cleared out.
and if it was throw rugs your going to want to fill it and drain it several times when you get it draining again to make sure it is all cleared out of the machine,if it drains into a standpipe be careful it doesn't clog your pipes that stuff is like cement.

Washer does not spin a lot of water out of rugs.

does it even spin? check for broken coupler by checking for tub movment when opening lid when you hear motor in spin. if good check that machine advances to spin from neutral drain automatically. let it enter spin from rinse on its own. first it will drain without spin. after 2-3 min of drain motor will pause (with clank) then restart in spin. This pause can be accomplished by opening lid and closing as well but the timer should do it on its own. if bad replace timer.
