To hook up cable tv, you will need to have the cable running into a vcr 1st, then run either your s-video cable or audio video cables into the projector. Press the Source Search button on the remote control or the projector repeatedly until you see the image you want to project on the screen. The projector has two Source buttons.
Use the Computer/Component button to switch between equipment
connected to the Computer/Component ports.
Use the Video/S-Video button to switch between equipment
connected to the Video and S-Video ports.
? The remote control has four Source buttons. Use them to switch
between devices connected to the ports identified on each button.
(The PowerLite 830p does not support EasyMP.TM)
You can preview all sources on one screen to help you select the
desired source. (Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up
after pressing the button.)

I have hooked my Epson 77c to cable in the following method. Cable directly into old vcr, vcr cabled into tv, RGB cable from vcr out to Epson 77c video input. The issue is that I can view only channel 3 on...

VCRs typically do not have RGB outputs. If you are using the VCR as a tuner for your projector, then be sure you have selected the VCR/TV button to VCR then your VCR will be the tuner. If you have it set to TV then the signal is passed through the VCR by your coax to the TV and the TV is the tuner but the VCR is now only outputting Channel 3.

I am trying to get a universal remote control to work with my Epson 835p powerlite projector. I cannot find the code needede. I tried seaching on the remote but that did not work. Please help

Usually the multimedia units use different codes to domestic appliances. I expect you may have to browse ebay for a correct replacement remote.
Hope this saves you time and helps.

I have an Epson 3LCD that does not display red

First, with the unit on, connect a known-good monitor cable, or video cable to ensure it's not a connection problem! If the projector displays red with a computer but not normal video, there is a problem with the video input section of the projector and vice versa. If, however, no red is produced no matter what, it is highly likely that the lcd is either disconnected (from impact or vibration) or non-functioning. From my experience with Epson, if the lcd's are involved at all, the entire "optical engine" (the internal mounting unit for all the mirrors and lenses) must be replaced as a unit due to how the lcd's are mounted. ---Rick
