My screen won't come on, however the blue light does come on to show it has power. Sometimes the screen just stays black, other times it seems like it's going to turn on but doesn't, meaning the screen lightens a little but it never fully comes on. This happens intermittently; when I unplug the power source for a small amount of time it sometimes fixes the problem and the screen comes on, however it often takes several tries. Periodically it just comes on right away. Also the remote frequently stops working where I can't adjust the volume or turn off the TV without unplugging it. Help!

well, its a 2003 LDC 13 years old ,
its bad
the monitor itself of the power pack to it is bad.
you can test it on any PC< or laptop made
if its dead on all , then its dead.
what more needs saying,
older LCD monitors had old CCFL, lamps. that love to fail
newer are LED back lights that last for ever. it seems
so up grade?
seems your back light is dead
ever do the flash light trick
shine it at the dead screen see good data
yes, then the CCFL is DEAD< (or its power supply ,deep inside)
fixed may but would never do a 2003, not now.
lots of used good LED for sale,
hi the cause is screen back light not working properly. you need to remove the back cover of the monitor to access the internal part of the monitor. then look for the connector of the cold cathode fluorescent tube back light going to the power inverter board of the back light you will noticed a dry joints which cause a loose connection that is why you hear a sound that cause of spark. you need to re soldered the connector or replaced if totally burned.
You have a power supply problem. Within about 32 seconds the picture drops out because the backlite transformers shutdown. Yoy will have to find a new power supply or have some one fix yours.
Repaired! This sounde like a fuelty screen or screen inverter. To check this, connect to an external monitor, if the external works properly, then it's the screen or inverter. If the external doesn't work, let me know and we'll run the problem down to a more indepth (internal) trouble shoot.
