I don't know how to use the remote controle to turn on the surround sound, can you tell me what button to push? My husband threw away the instructions.

Go to your menu on your remote control then go to settings then go to sound and you'll have some options to choose from up and down on the arrows and then push the center button on the remote that will give you the selection you want
Hi there, if you know what model it is you can do a google search for the owners manual. There should be a sequence of buttons you can push or hold to reset to factory/default settings.
Simple I only paid $32.00 for the unit and was not about to pay to have someone tell me to push a button and fix it. I did not figurre it out, so I just threw it away and will buy a new one. BUT NOT a Digix.
i found out on line in the owners manual that if u still have a remote control that came with the tv, u press the tv/av button and enter button at the same time to disable the child lock. New problem: u can't do it with a universal remote, even if its programmed to a magnavox tv. I called the 800 # to buy a remote control and the rep told me that it cost $50, not including the shipping and handling. so my husband put the tv in the car, brought an extension cord and took it to a local tv repairman who was kind enough to use his remote to remove the child lock for us. finally someone who is helpful for free. thanks to all the nice people out there!
Surround sound will come from the speakers from your surround system. So if you have it connected through HDMI 1 select that option from the source button on the remote control. If you have it connected through Scart 1 then select AV1 from the source button. It also best to turn the volume from the TV to minimum so that the sound only comes from the surround speakers.
more than likely yes depending on if it has an aux button if so most of the time u turn the device on hold the aux button down till it blinks or stays solid lite up then press the power button and press up till the device turns off if that dosent work refer to the manual and it will give u a code just use the dvd settings
