Hold
down the power button and home button simultaneously for 15 - 20
seconds then release. Soon after you may have to press the power button
again to restart the device. The iPhone
should reset itself without any loss of data. If it boots in recovery
mode ( you will be a cable on the screen ) you will need to connect to
itunes to restore the device.
This is most ofter the #1 solution to fix this issue. Hope it works for you.

Press down on your Home Button and your Lock Button at the same time for about 10 seconds or until you see the apple logo. This will restart your phone and should resolve your problem!
this should probably work try holding the homescreen button and the lock button at the top for about 15 seconds it should restart and you'll see the apple logo wait for a couple of minutes and you should be fine
You need to a fresh restore of the iPhone. Hold down the home and power buttons together until the screen goes black. Then while the screen is still black, plug it into your computer WHILE holding down the home button.
At this point iTunes should detect your iPhone and tell you that you need to do a restore.
Hope this helps!

do as i say i think it will work ...........
Step 1. Turn off your iPhone.
Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
Per the first Google result for "reset ipod touch", http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/10/04/how-to-reset-iphone-and-ipod-touch-hard-reset-or-reboot/ says:
"Press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then
the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black
background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done"
keep the home button and the power button pressed together untill a yellow triangle appears on your screen and it will restart............this should solve ur problem. I tried it and never saw a yellow triangle but it rebooted the phone and it worked again!
I just don't know why the screen goes blank
