Try passwords 1111 and 7444. these are known sony default passwords. if that doesn't help, unplug it and leave it like that for 72 hours. that should drain the charge enough so it "forgets" the password.

Lost password cant watch movies on playstation 2

1. Insert a DVD Movie into the PlayStation®2.
2. You should receive a message informing you that the Parental Level has been set, and asking if youý"d like to allow the disc to play. Highlight "Yes" and then press the X button.
3. A new window will appear asking you to temporarily change the Parental Control to a different level. Again, highlight "Yes", and then press the X button.
4. Another window will appear asking you to enter your Password. Above that window are numbers (0-9).
5. Do not enter your password, but instead, press the select button on your Controller. This will change the text in the window from "Enter Password" to "Delete Password".
6. Using the numbers above the window, input 7444. If successful, you will receive a message stating "Deletion Complete".
7. Press Select. You will now be asked to register a new password. Please select a four-digit code of your choosing.
8. You will be asked to confirm your password selection by inputting the same code once again. If successful, you will receive a message stating "Registration Confirmed".
9. Now you need to turn off the password altogether. The movie should of started playing by now. Press select and chose Setup. Go to the parental control "tab" and set the level to "off".
10. Now you should be able to watch any movie

I need to cde to unlock my playstation 2 t watch r rated movies.

To reset the parental lock password or disable the parental lock, follow these easy steps

Step 1

Turn on your PS2 and choose the menu screen where you would normally enter the password. Instead of entering a password, go to the DVD setup menu. Go to "custom setup" and choose "parental controls".

Step 2

When you are asked for the code or password, press the select button on your controller and enter the number "7444". Now set the parental lock to "off".

Step 3

Press "reset" on the front of the game console to save your settings. When the system reboots, you should be able to view your previously censored games or DVDs. You will also have the opportunity to choose your own password, allowing you to turn the parental lock on and off, either manually or automatically by game or movie ratings.

Can not unlock console to watch movies on it

Haha no, you don't need parental controls! It's been a while since I got into my playstation 2 but as I recall there is an area when you turn it on where you can access set ups. I think if there is a parental control code on the machine, you may have to call sony to find out what to do as that info was with the parents who set it up. I'm not sure off hand if there is a universal reset code; try the website as well and forums there for the info. I think that's the best advice I can give.

Oh, did you contact the people you bought it from? Perhaps they can find out for you and save you some time?

I bought a system from a co-worker who up-graded to a PS3... he had a parental block o it for his children... I wanted to watch a DVD on it and it asked for a pass-word... I called my co-worker but he...

Here it is better give me 5 stars for this one :)

Power off your PlayStation 2, and place a DVD into the disc drive. You can reset and turn off parental controls only through the DVD menu, not within the game menu.
  • Step 2 Start the DVD, and wait for the message informing you that the movie is classified as beyond the "Parental Control Level" and asking if you still want to play the movie. Select "Yes," and click "X."
  • Step 3 Click "Select" on the screen that prompts you to input your password. The screen will change to the "Delete Password" menu.
  • Step 4 Enter 7444 as your password, and then click "X." This is the override password and will result in the deletion of any previous passwords.
  • Step 5 Press "Select" to return to the password entry menu. Choose a four-digit number to enter as your new password. If you're going to disable parental controls for good, enter 0000, as this will be the easiest to remember and enter. Repeat the entry when it asks for confirmation.
  • Step 6 Click "Select" when the move begins to play. Use the directional pad to select "Setup" from the menu that appears. Next choose "Parental Controls." Change the level to "Off," and exit the menu. Your parental controls are now turned off.

    Parental password?

Here is the procedure to reset the parental lock code:

    1. Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.

    2. When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".

    3. The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off".

    4. Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings.
