SOURCE: Gateway MX6927 Windows Xp won't boot

put your xp disk in the optical drive.Turn off computer. Turn computer back on as soon as you turn it on start tapping f 12 constantly.it should go the boot menu giving you a choice of booting from cd or hard drive choose boot from cd.Be sure you choose repair rather than new installation or you could loose all your information stored on the hard drive,I personally would try safe mode first you can get to safe mode by tapping f 6 when you first turn on your computer.

SOURCE: T6524 bios update needed

This isnt necessarily a bios problem mate , its just windows got corrupted during the power surge. Use the link below to do a repair install. Note , repair installs do not erase your personal files or setings or software !

Hi... I have a problem during installing Windows Xp in my laptop, im getting an error message like 'setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.... plz.. help me out...

reboot your computer and hit f2 when you first see the logo popup, this will take you into the setup. Arrow over to boot at the top of the screen.hit f5/f6 until your cdrom drive is first on the list. Arrow over to exit and save changes and exit. Before you hit enter, put your XP cd in the cdrom so it will boot to cd when you restart. You should be able to reinstall windows doing this. When you are done, to reverse the process and return your bootup to normal default, hit f2 at the logo, when you are in the setup utility hit f10 to load setup defaults and exit, your computer will reboot and you should be good to go!

Dell l400 problem

1.If you purchase an external USB CD drive you will not need to use your floppy discs for booting. 2. You can connect a USB CD drive to your system. 3. Your system will recognize any device plugged into your USB drive. 4. There is no CD drive available for internal installation in your computer. 5. With the USB CD drive plugged in and the windows installation disc inserted, your computer should take you through the setup program automatically.

Windows won't start

hi i as you said you have no cdrom you are using an external cdrom this may be your down fall but i shell try my best for you ok .
first start the laptop up press f2 or del to go into *********** board settings when you have done that move your arrows to the right finding your boot option go into that and remove your hard drive from that this will make your sys search for the usb or cdrom to load from then you must save this on leaving the motherboard when you leave it will say save y do that then it will restart and find your cdrom make sure that you have the windows disk in the cdrom before you start ok follow the on screen insturctions telling you to format the hard drive this will wipe the hard drive ready for installing the new windows program on it ok
the reason when you loaded the windows on the other pc and put it in your laptop is the motherboard is not the main op sys for the hard drive hope this work for you if not get back in touch and we shell try another way ok thanks all the best
